I love my Merrell slip-on shoes and can't really wear much else.  I did find a nice Nike Air Sandal that was good.  But any round heel shoe should do good.  Merrell has one called the Concorde that I may have to try out.  For autocross I use a pair of $4 water shoes from walmart.

I just ordered some of these ugly a$$ Pilotti's, they are $40 bucks as a discontinued style, $100 off and you don't have to tie them, I don't care what they look like, they only have red left.

You will like them Smartin.  I am on my fourth pair, and due for another.  They are a comfortable all around shoe, but also a real driving shoe, too.

OK an update, or for Chuck an updoc.
I got in my funny looking driving shoes.

They are FANTASTIC, they are way more comfortable than my Simpson' s for walking, super light weight and a nice wide shoe for my boat feet. Very, very comfortable well worth the $40 and all the comments at work about my "clown shoes" They have yellow stiching so they match my car sort of, I may pony up the full price and get some gray ones too.

I also got a pair of these from the same place

They look just like dress shoes and you would never notice they are not, they have a very grippy sole and are great to drive in, not as comfortable as the "clown shoes" but they fit in a lot better. They were I think $40 and look appropriate with khaki's and a button down.

OK now you won't believe this but Sportsmansguide.com while you are there you can pick up some ammo and camo and a wide assortment of other uselless stuff, everything from world war II combat helmets to hoodys. Oh sorry they were $49.95, I have them on now they are very comfortable.

I'm jealous. If I wasn't in this weight loss contest and wasn't a vegetarian, I'd be joining you. ;)

You can just go for the drive, the weather is not going to be what we had hoped for but still should be fun. Kind of a rolling car show.

I've had several pairs of Pilotis and like the narrowness and pedal feel. There are two general categories of Pilotis and they specifically note the difference in their literature. That is, that some models are fireproof and are made specifically for racing and other models are non-fireproof. There are lots of non-fireproof pilotis and they are quite comfortable but if you're seriously racing you need the fireproof models.-bird

I had noticed that, that's why I thought they would work for Mike, a mens size 4 is a ladies size 6, I don't know of many men who wear a size 4 so I guess they figure they are metrosexual shoes.

Oh really? Maybe I would wear a 5 or 5 1/2 then. But at 85 bucks a pop, they're more expensive than my aerobics shoes.

That is actually pretty cheap for driving shoes, I think they are worth it but that's just me. Of course I think a good set of tires is worth the money too, the most overlooked mod on the Solstice.
