Water on my Seat
« on: April 06, 2009, 05:37:30 PM »
After washing my car I was cleaning the inside.  I moved the backrest forward and I saw water!   I suspect that it must have been due to washing my car, but HOW did it get in and HOW did it get into this specific spot?  Also, how was it that is was the ONLY part that was wet inside.  I'm completely stumped.

Strange, eh?

Dang it!  I was going there and now you've ruined it for me Asylum!!!

My guess on the water is that it actually landed on the seat, and ran towards the back where it was collected by the seat back, leaving the water in that odd location.  Try pouring some water on your seat and see where it runs?

Oh now who's the smart ass?

I know who will have a wet one if they try this.

Make sure your top is up next time you wash your car.

Can we get serious her guys?   Of course not!

Couple of places to look.

1.  Check and make sure the top was up correctly and the pins were aligned to the windshield frame.
2.  have someone sit inside with a towel and hit the leading edge of the windshield with a hose (wide spray not narrow stream :) )
3.  Do the same around the edge of the driver's window starting at the front.

The water hose will probably come through the window a bit.  but only a dribble down the inside of the glass.   This will at least give you a place to start.

Deep:

In looking at the pictures it may be condensation.  If there is no evidence of wetness under the rear of the seat and no evidence of water entry into the interior, I would think you may have taken the car out of a cold garage, had the top up, washed the car, and the car may have sat in the sun.  Did you check for water at the same place in the other seat?

If it is not condensation have someone spray water on the car similar to the way you wash it and sit in the other seat to see where it may be entering?   :2c:
