Man that sucks. I recently had an accident with my Sky. The paint shop did a wonderful job repainting, but it seemed like they had never hung a body panel on one of our cars. They couldn't get it right. Took it out of the body shop to the regular Saturn service, They worked on it for 3 1/2 hours to get it right. Hope they get you taken care of properly!

I have also realized that on my car, some of the panels have a slightly lighter shade of black (if that makes sense).  Something fishy is going on with the paint on these cars.  My driver's door also isn't even fully painted...and i didn't notice until i put on vertical doors and could see the bottom.

You are right, I've owned white cars before, and they don't show the dirt as much.  The downside is, even after spending an entire day detailing and waxing, it doesn't look much better either.  There's no POP or shimmer to white.  For me, a clean metallic black car, especially in the shade or at night, is the best a car can ever look.  I might be biased though, the last 5 vehicles I've owned were all black, until the wife insisted that we get Sly on the Sol.  I still have yearnings when I see a black Sol though.

The paint is so thin that you can see right through it.  It makes the whole door transparent and that is why you have a hard time seeing anything.

Sorry could not get the pic small enough. I think the Painting Robot at the factory might run low on Paint and the pick-up miss sprays     :idk:

IS THAT IMAGE A FACTORY BLACK PAINT JOB ON A SOLSTICE????????

:bs: My friends that is not right!!!! :bs:

IMAJ is this what yours looks like in sunlight?

Besides the obvious door panel mis-match, none of the panels seem to match at all. Am I to also understand that parts are also not painted and missed altogether by the factory?

Any other colors out there with this problem or is it just black?

You have to look close to see my issue with the paint. Or if I bring my car into the garage and turn off the lights...you can see it as plain as day with a 500 watt halogen light.

Here you go now the pic is here too.

PS to attach a picture click on the insert image button it's the third one from left under "font size" then insert the address of the pic between the brackets (for example img]http://kappaperformance.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1429.0;attach=893;image[/img, I removed the beginning and end [] in the example ).  To get the address, right click on an image (that is already on the web someplace) and then click on properties it will display the address, cut and paste and your good to go.
