Isn't that 5?   I am looking to do the footwell lighting now that I have Solo GXP-RCD/hi flow cat exhaust upgrade out of the way. Just have to find an LED that will give even lighting and not create hot spots on the floor. Need a wide angle LED (LEDs) I guess.
Just trying to do my part...

Mods: Lose the chicklets, VentureShield, Dual horns, AfterShock spoiler, Weathershield cover, Lil Chromies, Red calipers with black Solstice stickers, Opel GT antenna and Solo GXP-RCD exhaust with a Solo hi-flow cat!

I'd go with something more like a neon tube if you're looking to get rid of hotspots...

Sorry Sly Bob -

Guess that is 5 :D - Lots of great LED solutions out there to eliminate the hot spots.

For the footwell, I am contemplating something from

http://www.oznium.com

I am either going to go with a series of 3 of these on each side:
http://www.oznium.com/led-modules/photos

~OR~

A 9.5" length of these on each side:
http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips

In some posts I have found on the web, some have used these: http://www.oznium.com/led-string-modules My problem with these is that they look too much like a after thought/cheap solution where the other two dont. But again to each, their own.

I ordered a pair of these the other day

http://www.oznium.com/led-modules

If you look at the pics on the "Action Shots" tab, there is a picture of an SUV that has a single module on each side and with a 110 degree viewing angle there should be no hot spots. I don't want to light up the whole car with these, just a little accent lighting in case you need to find something down there.

http://www.oznium.com/led-modules/action

After I try these I may well get a pair of blue ones and put them on the horizontal plastic on the bottom of the doors. It would light the ground when you open the door.

Sly Bob - mounting those under the bottom edge of the doors to light when you open them is an awesome idea!  I already did blue LEDs in the footwells that dim with the map lights - love them!  Guess you could tie the waterproof strips from oznium into the same circuit, huh?  Have you checked if there is clearance under the door edges for the strip - it won't get caught in the jam?

I am thinking about doing Sky888's Killerglass radiator hose mod!  http://www.killerglass.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_85&products_id=209  I have sent an email to the company to see if they can make a glass radiator fluid holding tank to replace the big white plastic bubble we have too!

I haven't fit them under there as I haven't gotten them yet, but I got down on my hands and knees yesterday and it looks as though there is lots of room. as they are pretty thin. If you were to mount them on the horizontal piece at the bottom of the plastic door panels you wouldn't see them and you wouldn't have to worry about them getting wet.

Not that it would matter anyway 'cause, as you said, they are waterproof anyway. Yes, I see no reason why you couldn't tie them into the same circuit.

Sly Bob - another idea - since I may do the VDI kits in the future, maybe I'll get white leds and mount them under the bottom edge of the sills rather than the door to light the ground.  That way, when you open the vert doors they aren't shining to the rear.

You'll be very happy with these mods. I have the street version of the backbone, but the probeam also, sure makes the car handle better. The rear doesn't swing near as much (is that a bad thing?)

Right now I wish the rear would swing (oversteer) MORE.  Its the pushing (understeer) that is killing me on the autox course.  Less front bar and more stiffness in the rear might help.

We'll see this weekend with the new stickier tires that should hang in and turn better, and even more next weekend, by which time I'll have the backbone and pro beam in.
