Even if it was, since he had a big turbo, he's probably f'd at the dealer

You are right on, it is an aftermarket turbo on a 2.4.

If not the doors, the blingy wheels for sure.

Read the thread. Big turbos mean MORE air, and without correct adjustments (and NOT listening for detonation - and he said he didn't) even with the spray too much air + too much timing = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.  :gaah: :gaah:

Come on, Kenny, how can the dealer "f" him on a four year old car with all that stuff done to it? Or is that that your tongue in your cheek?   :D

very good point you can have all the boost in the world but not flow to much air or  have relatively mild boost and a very high flow of air. lots of people get wound up in boost number but what you really have to look at is air flow numbers

The point was that if there was a flaw in the engine, you'd probably break it without the big turbo.

I thought it was an LNF but you guys are right. I am less worried now. :) Thank you

If you keep reading his post, he did it on purpose. He's replacing it with another engine he's been prepping. Keep reading and you'll find that there's an LNF owner on there that said he blew his too.

Mine was purchased back by GM for being a lemon since it spent 60days in the shop for low compression in cylinder #1 which caused broken valves / rods and them to replace the cylinder head. The same thing is also happening to Deep-GXP since his car is at the dealer now and he is getting a brand new engine.

I had the GMPP tune and he had the GMPP+Wester's. So it looks like the issue is coming up more and more.

And just to clarify, the Westers had nothing to do with my engine failure.  It was a bad seal.

This may explain why my max hp was 238 on a dyno jet with Dejon IC/Westers tune on stock sensors.  I thought it should've been more..

I hate to keep bringing this up but the Gm performance build book states replace pistons with aftermarket above 300hp. replace cylinder liners, rods and valves above 400hp. You can't just strap on some big but turbo  without up grading the engine parts Gray Wolf

IN my research on building a race lnf engine I was amazed that Gm racing quit offering the 2.4liter racing block @ a cost of $5,300. Found out their block was cracking at oil intake port right front side.  Ray Bates engineering has designed and builds a block that can handle up to 1,400hp with no cracking problems. This block failed because the sleeve failed 1st. The engine should be resleeved once it hits the 400hp + stage. Finding a good sleeve is a problem. Darton offers a set of 4 sleeves for around  $650.00 but you must have Darton install them.Complicated I took these to four machine shops that do race engines and everyone said they don't have proper equipment so I returned them. Bates engineering installed his race sleeves/size classified foraround $2,000 on my engine.Ray Bates is a specialist in Ecotec Race engines and has helped develop engines with GM racing. Note Bigger sleeves would require custom 2.4 liter gasket from cometic 83mmpistons wiseco Max .lNF can go
