Forgot to mention that I got GMPP extended warranty (48 months, 32k miles, $0 deductible) for the Kappa last week on Friday.  I went to two Corvette Forums dealers to give me quotes and I went with one with $100 cheaper quote.
So... how much $$ was it (and what mileage, #years in service on your car now)?

It's $830.  The 36mo/36k mile warranty was out on March 28th so I got the extended warranty started on the 25th.  The car had 12,054 miles when the extended warranty initiated.

So a slight delay on the tune install.  After taking a good look at the length of wiring to the stock manifold MAP sensor, It was apparent I was not going to be able to stagger the barrel plug crimp connectors like I wanted to keep the run from having a large bulge in it.  I want to keep the harness reversable without having to re-cut so I did some searching and came up with ordering three of these.  Three, because if the main two are wired with the males on the reverse ends, I can split the third between the two old sensor plugs and replug them back in place if needed.  Will be here by Saturday.  Weather pack connectors.  gives a true meant to be look.

TS - that is an orange car, looks great Morf, but it is really too clean for a Jeep

I agree, but it's only 5 days old.  She will get some dirt this weekend.  Or at least get the crappy tire dressing off that the dealer put on it.

@Elff --> Tires and wheels will be changed out when these tires need replacing.  There are no aggressive tires available for 18" rims. Besides I still have to buy the star specs for the Solstice sometime this year.

Suprisingly the connectors showed up today.  Just finished installing them and yes, I backed up the crimps with soldering before inserting them into the housings.  They did send the wrong ones (ordered the square 4 pin and got the flat 4 pin but that's fine with me).  Just have to reconnect the battery and upload the initial flash now, but I got hungry so food first.

My tires came in yesterday.  I brought them, along with some wheels that some Angel sent to me to a local tire shop.  After chatting it up with Tomas for and hour, I got home and jacked up the Solstice.  After about 20 minute, this is what it looked like:

Thank you wheel fairy!

I know.  The first thing I said, the first thing my brother said, and amazingly, the first thing the misses said was... now it looks like it needs to be lowered!

So, I MIGHT be in the market for some lowering springs...

Damn... this car is addictive...

Get some shocks, not just the springs.  That way you can adjust them to what ever height you want.  The ride is much nicer too!

The ride now is not bad.  It's a compromise between all out street racer and comfortable cruiser.  We will be taking this on some 4 or 5 day journeys, so it has to maintain some level of "cush"

Are you suggesting that the new shocks will make it better overall?  Or better as a sports car?  How better?

Thanks in advance Doc.

If you get lowering springs (ie Eibach), you have no adjustment and they are pretty low to the ground.  I drove Joe Jr's old car when he had them in and found them to be a rougher ride than stock.

My KW Coilover Varient 3 that I got from DDM are adjustable in ride height, bound, and rebound (Although the rear ones seemed to be a lttle short and are adjusted to the maximum ride height). Now, the adjusting is not instantanious mind you, it takes some work, but it can be done.  I think they ride better than stock and I have the front end about 1.5" lower than stock.  They make for good racing and a good ride.  Its all in how you set them up.

Maybe you should drive to Joe's instead of flying.  He has the right tools for the job.  Well, ever since we went out and bought them to do mine with!

In other news, I recieved my Stunner Lights LED's today.  No directions included.  I didn't know which was which.  :idk:  But an e-mail to Jay was quickly answered with descriptions and direcions.  Good customer service!  After work, I put the reverse lights in along with the brake lights.

I would have done more, but our Korean Liason Officer (LNO) wanted to go for a ride.  He's a certified mechanic and has a Korean racing license and knows some local runs.  Not a bad guy except he drives a BMW! :gaah:

Anyway, he showed me a course that they close off once in a while, loaded with hairpins, cliffs, and guardrails.  Not too much traffic was on the road and most of it pulled over so you could get around.  I can't wait to get my camera mount to get some video.

I completely agree... If I could do it all over again, I would have saved for fully adjustable coilovers instead of going with the Eibachs... and soon Z0K's.

Difference is, I wanted to stay stock as long as possible.

If you get lowering springs that are the same spring rate of what you have it should feel just about the same. Adjustable shocks are about 4 to 8 times more expensive than just springs.

Love those wheels GJ.  Simple, elegant.  Can't really tell if the rims are polished or not, but if they are, and if the centers come in gunmetal/grey, then thoses are the ones for me!  What make/model are they?

TS, I believe those were a close out and there are no more to be had.

Wheels look great GJ. They look much better on the car than they did in the box.

Whatta .... you didn't mentioned anything about wheels  :slap:

They look awesome ;) ... Details please .... Enkei?

I had the debate between springs vs coilovers for long weeks, I'm very glad I choose coilovers (thank you Kenny for helping to decide) since than I don't stop to recommend coilovers over springs. You gonna fall in love again about the car after coilover upgrade, like I did
