I finally installed dual oil catch cans. I needed to build a mount for the cans and I kept the check value in place. I ran some clear hose from the drains on the bottom to down behind the front bumper for easier draining. I'll let everyone know how much oil I get in both cans.
Assuming that you've kept the two piping end points the same and just inserted the OCCs inline (difficult to see from the photo) and since you've kept the check valve there, you should never get any oil in that left can
unless the check valve fails. With the check valve in place, it's an an engine air-intake only.
You
should never get oil in the second one either, since there's a baffle set in the valve cover that (should) act as an oil catch can itself.
Be interesting to see what actually happens though. I've been struggling about the need for an OCC myself and pretty much decided just to put a clear fuel filter in line with the check valve. If that shows oil, then I (in theory) know that the valve has failed and can replace it.
One question, what did you use to connect into the push-on fitting on the end of the factory pipe?
