Which kit did you go with, Tomato?  How long have you had 'em installed?  How have they held up?  Did you do both seats?

OK, well haven't had them in too long... just over 2 months, but working fine so far.

Got the Peak Universal 9" x 18" SIL-05 kits (2 seats) for $150 from an online place which turned out to be just down the road in Rockville (MD) - link: http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/pecafidutewa.html

So, yes, I did both seats.  The kit came with pretty much everything... only issue was the wiring loom wasn't long enough the way I installed them, so I had to splice some wire extensions in.  They come with switches and relays that switch the 2 heating elements per side (seat bottom + back) either in parallel (high heat) or series (low heat).  High is more than hot enough and I use that setting initially, then go to "low" for a maintenance level.  Works well and I am very pleased with them.  Highly spouse-recommended!

FYI - this was where I mounted the switches:

smartin, I would seriously consider the DDMWorks Race Backbone and Probeam.  What a difference the two have made.  Suspension is so much better and feel of the vehicle is improved at least 30%.  You won't regret the move.

If you have to pick one. I would do the backbone instead of the probeam.

Smartin already has the backbone and I witnessed her do some extreme testing, on to the Pro Beam. I did the heated seats many mod meets ago, going on the second winter. JPM said get the carbon fiber ones so you can cut the elements without issue. Mine works great. Got it from here, they have ones that vibrate too.

I will be rockin the new stereo by then, the Zed Audio amp is here now I just need the headunit. I will be mostly just helping folks, no mods planned for the meet.

Sorry, there won't be one in Sept.  We are only doing this annually.  Perhaps someone else would like to host a fall mod meet.

Joe you can put me down for 24 & 25. Also my wife Linda will be coming, we will get a hotel somewhere local. I would like to come Friday but not sure yet if we can both get off work early enough to make it worth while.
There is a lot of reasonable hotels across the bridge in zipcode area 20619.  It about 10 miles away.

Installed a set of heated seats this last weekend.  No problem.  Use the site listed.  I may get some more.  If we do a group buy, they get cheaper.  I may start another thread.

Well, I'll try again to arrive Friday but stay at least through Saturday.  I want to see what new things come out from DDM.  I'm thinking I need a JPM shifter.  I might ask for help on a rear sway bar and shocks install.  I'll bring chips and beer.

I would like to bring an entire Mexican Taco shop, as that has gotten me thru many late nights and early mornings, but I think that is going to prove difficult.  I will come up with something...  I may just have to borrow someones car to go pick up a few things... hmmm, which one...  whose is the fastest?

I meant Steve.  Forgive my lack of worldliness, but I've never been particularly interested in tasting him.

Heated seats are sounding really good right about now.  Hmmm...

I'll be happy to help you Bobby - consider it part payment for helping with my sound-deadening last meet :)

It's easy to do, just time consuming.

Has anyone ever applied stripes who will be at the mod meet? I am thinking of having some custom graphics made and have never applied any myself.

I've not done stripes per se, but I have done other (large) decals and did my own clear bra.

Key is to have a very mild soap solution in a spray bottle and get EVERYTHING wet (car, decal, hands) then apply, slide into position and squeegee all the water out.

I can help.

We tried putting a stripe on my car last time, but there can not be any wax or anything on the car.  It would not stick so I ended up having them painted on.  Get them painted...best choice I ever made!!

Hmmm. That's interesting.  I've done many decals on different cars and never had that problem.  In fact I have see that some places recommend (and I did this prior to my own clear-bra application) that you wax prior to application to protect the paint better - esp if you ever need to remove later.

I guess this is another one of those "YMMV" things and may differ based on what vinyl is used.  Kenny, maybe you should ping your vendor first?

EDIT:  Just thinking... spiky, you have that complex set of hood scoops on yours.  Would certainly be a lot more difficult application than on a standard car.
