Did anyone notice that the kappaperformance discount code is applied to everything in your cart at checkout?

Damn.  Now I'm upset!  I spent $200 there a couple of months ago - I could've saved $50+  :censor:  :banghead:

My kit came with an ATC-style fuse pigtail per seat, but it seems the kit wiring has changed so not sure about the latest ones.  In any case you need a 10A fuse per seat, or 20A if merging two seats' wiring into the same circuit.

EDIT: Hammy, on re-reading the question, if you are asking about a fuse tap type of pigtail, you'll have to supply that yourself.  In which case you'll need the mini-ATM type to tap into the BCM fuse array.

Here is the scoop on JPM, he did at one time sell seat heaters, there was not a lot on interest so he stopped selling them when he stopped selling Katzskin seat covers. He recommended the one I bought (same one) he specified I get the carbon fiber, and he did install it in the seat at MM5 as a demo, I paid $90. I did all the wiring when I got home. I works great. I will be adding the passenger side soon. Looks like I will be ordering 2 more as a Valentines day gift, to install in a Trans Am, not going to be nearly so easy with the damn HOG RINGS!

I spoke with him too and he recommended one that is 9-10 inches wide...9 inches is the recommended.  I think I will be ordering these and having JPM install them when he does my seats.  Is there a special way to order, like a group thing, or just go onto the site and have them shipped directly to me?

Had to live up to the name somehow!  LOL

I think I am going to install one switch on each side of the console in the center.

Not exactly sure where you mean, but there's not enough space behind the sides of the console unless you're putting them pretty far back in the knee area, or up high beside the radio.  Also, if you place the passenger-side switch out of sight of the driver, there's a good chance it'll be left on - with all the downsides that that entails  :(

Don't know if you missed Joe's earlier post about where I put mine (above the radio) but they look very good there, matching the 'circular theme' of the dash.  In fact a friend of mine thought they were factory installed.  Only issue is to be careful where you drill - have to be low enough to miss the A/C control box.

Hmmm...good thoughts!  I guess when I have them installed, we can throw some ideas around.  I don't like to be the same as others LOL.

One should be enough (w/20A fuse).  Then tie both seat's 12V wires together to that pigtail.

That's pretty cold for your area.
I am soooo Glad I got these.

I put the switches under the Cup holder on the center console.
I didn't want to take my dash apart and the wire lengths were going to cut it real close for where I would have wanted them.
This worked out nicely as it's close to the rest of the wiring connectors for the seats themselves and it looks good.
it's as hard/easy to use the switch as it is to get your cup out of or into the holder.

When Interviewed T-Rex was quoted as Saying
"The Kappa window and heater switches were designed with me in mind, I don't know how those warm bloods operate the controls, but for me, they are perfect"

Hey elff, do you have any pictures of your installed switches? I thought that would be a good place to put them myself. I'm not too keen on taking the dash apart either.

Holy crap its cold outside today.

Ask and you shall receive, I just ran outside and snapped a picture with my iPhone.
I tried to mount these as low as possible to keep them away from the bottom of the cup holder.
The camera angle and glare isn't great, but they were measured and are equidistant
I verified this morning that a full cup of coffee does not hit the switches.

I was not going to ruin the leather work JPM did for me, so that was why I chose one of the remaining Plastic locations.

Oh, hey, that's a good idea... Even better, since I don't HAVE a cup holder there...

LOL, I thought you meant the console cupholder in the right passenger side and nothing you were saying made any sense.  I also don't want to mess with my leather work from JPM, so I need to find a spot that is plastic.
