SO following the lead of others here, I'd like to do racing stripe(s) on my car. Problem is, I'm not sure of what color to choose to go with my Brazen (metallic orange) car...

Initial thought was to do pearl white, i.e a metallic version of the classic white on orange GM colors. But, although this might look ok with the top down, bot so sure about it with the black top up - may be too busy. I also like the idea of gold stripes on orange, but again would this be OK with the black top?

Last choice would be the old standby black stripes, probably matt finish, which is a bit more boring, but would certainly go with the top.

What do you think? Any alternative suggestions?

One of the 06 owners (disaster) had his custom painted Copperhead, with white stripes. It looked great.

Jim says since you already have tomato soup, use split pea soup.

I think pearl white would be great.

Go with the black. I've been trying to get GXPsy Rose to let me paint black stripes on hers (also Brazen) ever since she bought it.

Candy Bronze with a Pearl overlay and side pin-striping

Even a Pale Yellow would work

Thanks for all the white stripe votes, but as I browse thru google images I'm tending to like it less. As one forum post (different car) said: "looks a bit like Finding Nemo".

Another possible option I saw was silver stripes, which would have the advantage of tying in the silver windshield frame...

But I think I'm tending to default back to matt black. Even though I hate to copy Goat

I like the single stripe, off centered down the passenger side of the car. Perhaps a nice lime green?

I've seen some orange cars with dark silver stripes, I think that looks pretty good.

And for the record, I'm still pissed that they didn't make Skys in brazen.

Yeaaahhh, that actually sounds good (or looks good in my mind's eye!). Kinda like a 'Sly' grey/silver?

Black just doesn't look right in my minds eye, but you could buy some of the washable duplicolor paint and paint them on for a day or so and see what they actually look like.

White or silver, hadn't thought about silver but that looks good.

Silver works. If you want contrasty, go with a light blue, like an inverse of the old Gulf racing colors.

Yep, that's the color. There used to be a '05 Mustang with a custom orange metallic/dark silver stripe paint job running around down here, looked awesome.

So I started looking for gray metallic vinyl stripes, and so far found nothing that I want. Apparently gray metallic vinyl (as a color option) is very rare, nothing so far on eBay. Plus the places that do have it don't do stripes like I want... I'm going for a simple 10" wide single stripe.

Weren't they selling a Solstice with the silver stripes in Vinyl (SCCA Model)
