I called my existing provider and they fed me a line on how I was on a Legacy server and that I would have to cancel my account, then create a new account to be placed on a new and improved server.

Seems like they have in place a 1 year run smooth program on new accounts, then tighten the noose and force you to upgrade. Then when I want to close out my upgraded service, they feed me the bull crap that I'm on a legacy server. Hell the account is less that 2 years old and I know database admins can move between servers seamlessly.

So canceling my account and recreating it would put it back on the smooth running program for the next year. Hell, they have it so doctored up I can't even use my admin panel to backup the database.

Yeah, they use a proprietary control panel that has limited capabilities. Most all other hosting companies use Cpanel. Not GoDaddy...

I researched for hosting so many times, I can't say too many good words about GoDaddy and this case proved it once more, on the other hand is Hostgator.

Good call boss looking to reach lightening speed.

Site was down for about an hour this morning due to another Godaddy problem, I resolved it on the phone. I can't wait to get this migration over. I know you folks will be glad when it's done too.

Not a problem Joe as I know everyone is aware that you are doing all you can, as fast as you can. I can only assume that the site will have to go down for a while during the transition to the new host so that no posts are lost during the move?
