There probably is! Shaddup!
It was more of a change in my brain on how I feel about food and portion size and healthy choices. And the 20+ was a type, I am at 30+ lbs loss since January and keep losing.
The BEST thing to do is LOSE all juice and sugared drinks, period. I choose Snapple Noni Berry or Kiwi Pear with 3g sugar in the whole bottle and one will last me all day.
I still need to join a gym though. The Florida folks can back me up on that one. ;>
Man, I was really happy to see your post Excelsior! As Critterman post stated, I will say again, Welcome Back! You have traveled a journey that is hard and worth the effort. Just glad that you are reaping the rewards of healthy eating and doing what is right for your body. May I reaffirm how important regular working out is and how beneficial it is to your health down the road. Please don't get the feeling that I am preaching, nothing of the sort, but when I happened on your post, I was blown away with what your new mission is and believe me it is worth the effort if not for how you feel but how you feel about yourself and how others look at you. The main thing is the new energy you feel after getting rid of that load you have been carrying around. I won't rehash my threads on several occasions on the subject but you can look them up if you choose to.
I can just tell you, I was forced to do it by a Doctor. That scares you to death from the start. You have chosen to do it on your own. Good for you. The YMCA or a good gym is a good place to start and since you have gone this far, the hard part is behind you. Now, just the battle to draw up a new body clock and that requires you to stay on your goal weight at least a year without waivering to reset it. A good Doctor told me that in a very convincing way a long time ago and that changed my life. Keep up the good work and get down to the weight you want to be. Health is important and maintenance is essential to not confuse your body. If you have seen any of my posts on the subject, just remember that you feel so much better stronger. What was the final step in my process was to find a personal trainer at the Prairie Health Center that we joined way back on July 1st, 2000 as a Charter member. The place finally opened February of 2001 and as a charter member our rates would never be raised. That benefit has come in handy over the years for Carol and I from a financial perspective alone. The place now has over 7000 members and growing and is state of the art. I finally got smart and hired a personal trainer a short time back and that has helped me greatly. The part I like best about the place is the Olympic swimming pool!
Just do it. Health is a precious commodity.
