What you need:
1) Cross slot / Phillips screwdriver:

2) The cleaner:
- CRC Air Sensor Clean spray, was the only product which I could find to be dedicated for MAF which can be found in US and EU

-Alternative: I think is ok to use any contact cleaner, I was afraid to use brake cleaners not to risk damaging the MAF, even I was told that I can use anything that doesn't leave a residue.

How to do it:
1) Locate your Mass Airflow Sensor:

2) With the screwdriver unscrew the 2 screws marked here (be very careful not to drop them):

3) Then pull the sensor out:

4) Unplug the sensor from its connector
[attachment=6]

5) The cleaning of the sensor:

6) Let it dry for about 5 minutes and put everything back:

My sensor was only 11 000 miles with OEM filter and I was quoted by Lyndon is dirty.

I used contact cleaner on my MAF which is from a LS7 that comes with the Hahn Turbo kit. No problems.

Critterman: at the visual inspection, no, the metal plate looked a little bit, those small things which I think they are the measurement part didn't looked dirty. I trust Lyndon.

No, all I know is, I have a dirty OEM filter which I vacuumed the other day. I need to decide what route should I go with that too.
Mailed to Lyndon some logs the other week and he said I need to clean my MAF, I have looked over those logs 10 times, can't figure out where I can spot that, too weak in ECU knowledge here

I could see a very light coating of what appeared to be K&N oil from my filter cleaning and re-oiling (never had a code thrown so must have been close to propper re-oiling amount), and what appeared to be be very fine dust type particulates over portions of the sensor. I'll bring my can of CRC MAF Cleaner to SMMM7 so that others can clean their MAFs as well.

I know that when I cleaned my car's MAF, it didn't look dirty, but the cleaner dripping off was pretty black at first. I may not have seen it at first but there was definitely something on the MAF.

Nice job Kelu! I just did this job myself last week. For the Canaidans in the crowd, you can find the MAF Cleaner at NAPA....It was about $8 for a very large can. The large can looks like it would do about 25 MAFs. I did all 3 of my cars with it and it still feels mostly full.

If you drop a piece of sushi on the floor, just spray it with some MAF cleaner and you are good to go
