Goat's secret project with JPM
« on: January 08, 2009, 09:03:14 PM »
OK Joe (JPM) is back from vacation and the project will be moving forward so I will reveal what it is to see if anyone else wants one. My car is a daily driver, so I drive it a lot in cold weather. We have just about the worlds greatest heater but I don't like to drive with it blowing on me all the time. I also don't like wearing a heavy coat when I drive. My son told me Dad, you should wear a hoody when you drive, it's the best. Well rack one up for the younger generation. There is nothing more comfortable to drive in when it is cool or cold. I even keep one stashed behind the seat in warmer weather so I can keep the top down on cool summer and fall nights.

OK Now for the design, it will be a 12oz heavyweight Fruit of the Loom hoody, zip or no zip your choice, I prefer the no zip. It will have the Solstice Silhouette embroidered on the front very large, the stitching can be whatever color you want, I recommended JPM keep the color choices for the hoody to black or white to keep costs down but there are a ton of colors available if you want to pay a little extra, and then you can pick the embroidery color to match your car. Your either screen name or real name will be embroidered on the left sleeve. The back is wide open if you want your local club or whatever on it, this will cost a bit more but it's up to you, or you can just leave it blank. I am not sure what they will cost yet, I am guessing they should be very reasonable.

Fruit of the Loom 12 oz. Super Heavyweight 70/30 Hood
70% cotton, 30% polyester; label free; ribbed cuffs and band bottom with spandex; set-in sleeves; pouch pockets; two-ply hood with double-needle hem, matching tipped drawcord and metal grommets

I just had an idea, I will sell the back of mine to any supporting vendor whose parts I have on my car, Jeff, Dave, Lyndon, Joe, Rhys. This ought to be a great place for an ad, my back is only slightly smaller than a large billboard.

By the way Chuck you have to buy one and the back has to say Joe's Garage!

I always feel like I lose my periphrial vision in a hoodie and when I look left or right the hood stays in place and I end up staring into it vice down the road.  I wear them a lot but not with the hood up so I am still interested and the wifes addicted to them.  I'll just stick to my beenie on the brain or ball cap.

I almost never put the hood up, I only like them better than sweat shirts because of the POCKET and they are just cool! I just spent a fortune on a real Red Bull Racing Team hoody, but I got to support my boy!

Chuck, I don't think even you can afford that and still retire in the next 20 years.

I would be interested in a Solstice hoodie!  Let's hope with enough interest we can get a "group" price.

The price will be very fair, I picked the actual blank hoody it is about mid priced. Joe is always very fair in his pricing but it is a lot of embroidery. Silk screen would be cheaper but not what I wanted. If people want a lot of sponsors names on the back that could add up. The basic hoody and silhouette  should be very reasonable. Someone go down to Ga. and wake Joe up please!

I wear hoodies all the time and in fact I own at least four of them, most of them K.U. (an addiction)!  Living in the mid-west I find it wise to wear one when driving "Miss Red Eagle".  I like the sound that the hoody part makes flopping in the wind behind my ear's.  In fact, if you listen hard enough, you can determine the wind to be in stereo!!! Yes, I will take two for sure.  I have an addiction when it comes to stereo.  I can't get my 18" woofers in Miss Red Eagle so the hoody will have to do!
