I've been using a Canadian product on the car for a month or so now just to try something different. It's a Carnuba wax and the deep shine that it gives the car is nothing short of spectacular.

The problem that I was having was the Carnuba wax by it's very nature doesn't do as good a job as a sealant in filling those tiny scratches or swirl marks that we inevitably get on our cars over time.

I have been thinking for some time about getting a PC buffer and when I saw a small scratch on the wife's car the the other day I knew it was time to pull the trigger. "Look hun, I bought a PC buffer so I can get that scratch off your new car!"

I won't be using all of the same products as him but the results are what's important.

Bought all the products locally at the place that I have mentioned before. He has a huge online presence and sells tons of products including PoorBoys. Buying Canadian for us Canadians means no exchange, duty, import taxes, shipping fees or border hassle.

Tomorrow, if nothing else comes up in the mean time, it's time fire that baby up and see what she does!

I can tell you I will once a year use 3M professional auto body products.  The ultra fine swirl remover works wonders #3 does not fill the scratches but polishes them out so they are not there anymore.  Use with a PC or similar with a foam finishing pad and you got it made.  You have to use med pressure to compress the pad for the first few passes then just use light pressure for the next 2 passes and done.  If you have deeper scratches you have to use the polish compound that will put small polish scratches in the paint but smaller than the original scratch.  Then use the swirl remover compound to finish.

Looking forward to seeing the before and after pictures, Bob.  I bought a buffer about a year or so ago and it is one of the best investments I've made.  I'm sure you will enjoy yours and admire the results.

Yes they do but it's well worth it.
I have the Cyclo with the dual orbiting heads and while the vibrations are minimal the thing is kind of heavy and awkward sometimes in some places.

I have used Optimum with some decent results.  Add a nice glaze on top of it and you should be able to mask any marks that are left.  Toss a sealant on top of that for long lasting protection, and finish with wax for that great shine!

I don't see anything wrong with what Tazz said.  You must not know what it's like to have something heavy and awkward while trying to buff to a shine.  It's a pain.

Haven't had the opportunity to put the buffer to work yet as my son recently bought a house and we've been working on it.

I think I'd better get to the buffer and polish soon though before this thread COMPLETELY falls apart.
