Norm Sky hood request

Great job Norm, looks awesome.  Just wondering if you are ever going to make a hood for the Sky?

Hello and thankyou, I have a stock Sky hood here though its so nice I really dont want to hack it up to make a mold. Plus Id have to have at least 10 orders to justify the cost to make molds. Remember you have to make the inner moold too. Thanks Norm

So If we could manage to get 10 orders or a single ram air intake with the heat extractors you like so much..... :)

And does the ram air intake work for the gxp? or do you need something else to make it work for that?

Hello the Ram Air works with NA or GXP as the inlets are switched from side to side. But you really need to have a tune done to take advantage of the Ram Effect, especially with a automatic trans as the trans get confused with so much air coming in that it wants to downshift and gets wierd. DDM has tuned a couple with this issue nicely, thanks again Norm

I'm sure we can get 10 sky owners to order new hoods, but would like to see what kind of design you would do.  Can you draw some things up and post them?  Maybe a couple of different designs and see which one gets the vote?

split post for the sky hood info, will add poll.  Don't vote if you aren't willing to pay up.  Norm may need deposits from all the voters to start a new project.  Tooling costs $$$

i thought that we were to vote between 2 or 3 designs Norm would draw in order to make it more clear to him as to what kind of hood most people prefer on their Skys....
something like the online voting of GM with Chevrolet Beat, Groove, Trax concepts...
oh well, i had it all wrong...
really hoping to see the first aftermarket hood for the Sky from Norm!!!!

Hello and thankyou for some input. Im leaning towards a center power bulge and center air inlet, with and without vents at the same angle as  the side fenders, similiar to the Viper.

I likey!!!!!! How about making it with the side vents and no center bulge as well? I'd much rather have mine in this configuration. I think...

not a fan of the vents, just my preference, but I like the single center inlet, with the side vents (fender vents) to push the heat out.  a bulge would have to be small to prevent too much sight line blockage for me.

Ram air with a turbo?  Is that even worth it?  I know that is a different conversation.  I would want the inlet and fender vents just to get some more air flow over / around the engine to cool the engine bay, as well as for the looks.

EDIT:  I am a non voter in the poll as I have a Solstice.  Just offering thoughts.

I've always really liked the hood as is on the Sky, but Norm, you make incredible stuff, and I'm excited to see the various prototypes.

Hello and thankyou very much for helping out, I will continue with the viper look. Though it will take some time as I have other projects to get out, not to mention keeping our loyal customers happy. Thanks again Norm

That looks great.  Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this.  Do you have any idea on the cost??

Thankyou very much for the very comments, I will keep the cost for SKY hoods the same as the ones for the Solstice. $995.00 for non CAI, $1295.00 with CAI. Thanks again Norm

Norm, take a vacation in winter in Europe, come over here and built some here, will be much cheaper for Opel GT owners to buy it and can pay your holiday.

Norm,

I hope the VIPER non-cai can be made to accomodate a future V8 upgrade, just in case.

Norm, I see we only have 8 when you said you need 10. Is this hood going to become reality or is it scrapped due to insufficient interest?
