Door Sill upgrade
« on: September 07, 2010, 08:26:06 AM »
Has anyone updated their door sills from the raised Soltice Lettering to the ones with the stn stl "Soltice" lettered style. I have the Sand/Steel int and would like to do this. Part #'s would be a great help. I have been trying to search on this with no luck.

The parts are interchangeable but the problem that you are going to have is colour. The sill with the aluminum insert was standard on the GXP and the GXP interior is available only in ebony. You obviously need the sill to be in the steel colour so masking the insert and having a shop paint them might be the only option. The part number 9 at the following URL will give you the part number.

Just trying to do my part...

I did the raised letter installation of WR sills, and have worked very closely with WR to make this happen. It was a struggle at first, but we have come through all the issues.

If you are looking at standard GXP sills, they look very nice and definitely a nice addition to the SOL. For a slight bit more, you may want to go with lighted sills. A huge improvement over the raised letters.

Thanks Sly Bob, I may check into that colour match route, my DDM gauge POD matches closely so they may be able to help me out on a paint code. CT Solstice, as far as the WR sills, I just dont like the fact they tape on. I like the look and they are very well manufactured, I looked at them at the Nationals this yr because I was going to go that route, but the location can be abused getting in and out all the time and have heard of others coming loose too often.

I think if you where to use the windshield adhesive it whould not come off. When my WR lighted still come loose that is what I am going to use on them.
