Would this application work if your 2.4 is an automatic, in effect converting it to a six speed?

The question comes across as can you convert your 5-spd automatic into a 6-spd automatic.   If that is what's being asked, the answer would be no.

Oh boy, here we go! Good going Dave. I think I will wait a while though and let the eager beavers put the kit thru some unofficial testing for bugs that might show up.

Unfortunately we will not be posting any instructions or part numbers lists online just yet.  We just have way too much invested in the development of the kits right now to put that kind of information out there.  I can tell you that the kit is pretty comprehensive and we have tried to make the conversion as easy as possible.  There is minimal modification or fabrication involved in the chassis prep but we are asking that the kits only be installed by accomplished DIYers or licensed professionals.
I understand.  However I was just hoping that there was something that could be reviewed first (read: look at big pretty pics with rudimentary instructions) that would help to instill confindence to do it yourself.  If I bought a DIY kit and then had to take it to licensed professional than it seems like I'd be better off letting you guys do the installation in the first place.

I'm currently torn between trying to decide if it would be a good idea to buy a used Kappa for a future V8 conversion or if it would simply make better sense to buy a vehicle that already has a V8 (read: Mustang GT, SS Camaro, or an old vette).  But I know that buying something is one thing, and having the satisfaction that comes from doing it youself is something that can't be bought.  I've learned that from the car shows I've attended.  The guys who buy completed projects are thought of in one way whereas the guys who do it themselves get a lot more respect from their peers.

I've had the hood off our cars many times and never had to do anything to align it once it's been reinstalled.

Yes aligning the hood and trunk on these cars can be extremely fun, kind of like waiting in line at the DMV, it's a necessary evil.
