The Hybrid Audio Technology Legatia L6 Midbass Speakers, L1V2 Tweeters, and Legatia Crossovers arrived today!  The first thing I noticed out of the box was superb build quality.  The speakers, crossovers, and tweeters are heavy!!  I should have the amplifiers and subwoofer by mid next week, and will be meeting with my installer to plan the build next weekend!  Here are some pictures of the components I received today.

Axxess/Metra just released a new all-in-one unit, part #GMOS-100.  This unit allows for retaining both the steering wheel controls, and chimes (with OnStar and Monsoon).

You ask, and you shall receive!

The Amps and Subwoofer Packaged

Arc Audio MINI 500.1 and MINI 125.4 Amps- It's amazing how small these new Class H amplifiers are!  (they are both the same size)  That is a normal letter size piece of paper and portable phone for size comparison.

The Memphis 10" Slim Subwoofer..less than 3" mounting depth and only requires a .35 cubic foot sealed enclosure. (minimum 300 watts RMS and 600W maximum) Notice how the cone is actually stitched around the surround.  It's a fiber cone...looks a lot like carbon fiber for presentation.  Will be running 500 watts to the sub and bridging the 125 watts x 4 amp to the front Hybrid Audio Technologies speaker components.

Can't wait to have them installed!

The subwoofer is in...we modified the box that is currently in there. A new box didn't need to be built.  The door mounts had to be cut to get the new speakers to fit...but it was all done right.  Rear speakers are not needed in this car, especially for this setup.  So far, everything looks great....I will post some pics when it is done.

I agree.  I have them in my setup, but effectively turned off.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing the finished product, Steve.  When it's done, you'll have to not only post photos but an audio file as well.

Here are some updated pics, through day 2 of the install:

The amps are mounted behind the drivers seat, side by side.  Jon (my installer) made an amp rack, holding the amps on an angle and allowing for the crossovers to be mounted behind them....very clever!

The sub box needed to be cut to fit the wide basket of the flat subwoofer.  The woofer is also mounted on wood.  The OEM subwoofer grill was removed, allowing for a really clean finish.  I wanted the woofer in the open so I can see it move:)

A little Dynomat was applied around the sub box and the door speakers.  Jon was able to get the tweeters mounted in the A pillars, and they look really clean and stock.  JPM will be covering the A pillars at the mod meet to make it look even cleaner.

A frame was made for the amplifiers, and they are encased behind plexiglas.  Red LED's are also going to be behind the plexiglas to illuminate the amps.  Here are pics so far!

My installer is Jon Kampfer....he is the best...if anyone else needs a great and trustworthy installer, let me know and I will get you his info.

ALL DONE!!!

The audio system is complete!  Jon bi-amp'd all of the speakers...each front channel is getting 125 watts RMS.  The subwoofer is powered at 2ohm and getting 500 watts RMS.  The mounts in the front doors had to be modified, and he used some anti-vibration Dynamat around each speaker.

Let me know what you think of this....we were going for a close to stock look....and very clean.  I think he accomplished this with the install!!  The system sounds super clean and will need some time to break in...the tweeters are a bit bright, but need to go through their break-in period.

I also got the Viper alarm and auto-start....that you can start your car from your iPhone!!!  It's a sick setup!!

What do you think?
