Norms New Sky hood Viper style
« on: March 11, 2011, 06:51:21 PM »
Hello, now this is just a ROUGH pattern look that we will finalize to get ready for the upper mold. Its  Viper inspired as I had to deal with the crisp edge edge lines of the stock Sky which changed some styling, but overall came out nice. The three flat heat extractor sections on the sides will be cut out with screens on the part. Then have to build a lower inside mold, but were on the down side of this as its been a time consuming project what with everything else going on, not to mention the new front Sky Splitter that is done which we have just made our first part ready for fitting. that for another thread, LOL. Hope you like her. Thanks Norm

Norm you have 2 options:
a) You find a "decent priced" solution to ship these to Europe
b) Take a long vacation to Europe, so long that will allow you to build some of these while you are in Europe

Awesome! If I ever decide to go custom, or need a new hood, this is the one! The only change I would make to to eliminate the center hood scoop on the front! Just fill it in!

Funny, I want just the opposite.  I want to eliminate everything BUT the scoop... and round everything out a bit, oh yeah, and make it fit the Solstice... :)

As a solstice owner, I am really jealous that you are making this style hood for the SKY.  It would be really cool if you could make this for the solstice too.  Great job norm, you have impressed me with your work again.

The Solstice has a bunch of nice hoods from Norm. I'm glad we're finally getting a better part of his handiwork.

lookin good, make this for solstice. For my car which is used only on track, i would make the slots with screens functional and make the front scoop functional by cutting a hole in a stock air cleaner box ,weather striping for a seal etc. May be a excuse to take my car to SEMA show

One suggestion...and I know it may be too late...the hood scoops should be closer, like the Solstice...of course, we r viewing it in the raw.

Oh man, this is the first body mod that I have fallen in love with.  After all the comments of my car being a "baby viper", this would just finish it off!

And I would also be all about a functional ram air box with this.

I've felt envious of the formula hood (not being available for the Sky) but Norm has an impeccable eye for style.  The viper style fits the Sky and the formula fits a tough look for the solstice.

As a solstice owner, I am really jealous that you are making this style hood for the SKY.  It would be really cool if you could make this for the solstice too.  Great job norm, you have impressed me with your work again.

Norm, I have a stupid question.

I was just thinking about, how this hood protect our engine components when it suddenly rains?

basically, this will be only for summer, huh?
