Thanks Antonio! I changed the intake for now and put back the stock, no issues since then. So i'm going to have a new tube for the typhoon filter and if it works fine i shall start from there....

although ugly, you'll be very surprised how the stock intake do wonders!

it's also not a bad performing intake......

A new intake was made yesterday....

But the boost problem was still there, i really got tired with this story. Went to a local tuner and he has ready intake tubes for the opel gt, the only issue is that his tubes are made of stainless like the exhaust tubes and not from aluminum. I told him that with his tube it might work ok, but i'm gonna have heat issues with the stainless receiving heat from the engine bay, something the aluminum will not. He assured me i won't have any heat issues because the tube is in a safe distance from the engine and on the other hand he said, the stainless has the same inductive skills with the aluminum, don't know about that. What do you think guys, should i go for it or will i have heat issues? I also thought of ordering one tube from dejon but i'm already out of budget with the intake. Any suggestions are really helpful, thank you....

I would agree with the tuner. If anything, stainless steel is significantly less conductive than aluminium and so would resist the thermal transfer better.

I still think that your flange for the sensor may be too thick and is messing with the readings.

The SS pipe wont be a problem, the only downfall is weight and that is a fairly small difference on this amount of tubing. Since your pipe isn't designed to transfer heat ( like a radiator or IC with fins to increase surface area ) then there will be little or no noticeable heat transfer since there is so little surface area on the inside of the pipe and if anything the aluminum would transfer heat easier like Tomato said.

You should of placed the sensor closer to the filter like on the gmpp intake.
What is the ID of that pipe?

The sensor was placed in the same spot as in the stock intake and also the dejon intake. The pipe is from the k&n typhoon filter....

I still say it is on the wrong place, it should be a lot closer to the filter element like in the GMPP CAI.
However the depth may not be correct.
Did he measure the one from the OEM intake as far as the depth?.

Took the new tube yesterday from this local tuner, and today i put it on. As you can see in the pics below there is a difference in the tubes, the new one is 3'' and the other one was 3,2'', that's what caused the problem the tuner said, because the maf was reading more % of air....

The new tube was a little longer, and for that reason couldn't fit right, so i had to remove the metal part that held the stock ic pipe....

There was another one from the other side so i removed that too, there is no longer reason for those to be there as long as i now have a custom ic. A question please, what is this in the pic below? Is this the horn? There are two of those, one in each side....

The tube with the filter now fits better without the stock ic pipe holder, and the hood can close properly without pressing the filter down....

As soon as i take the car for a ride i'll update for how it does, i hope it works this time....

That's the reason given for some of the commercial aftermarket CAIs not working correctly.

Interesting that you have two. The Solstices (incl GXP's) only have one. It's a common mod to add the second low note horn to get a much better sound.

Do Sky's come from the factory with two horns?

Actually, Kappas come with a single low tone, we are missing the high tone that most dual tone setups run.

Especially in Greece we do need the two horns, a third also would be needed, we often go bip bip and bip bip, even before the red light becomes green we bip just to make sure the car in front of us leaves on time, stupid i know, but that's it.
About the new pipe, just got home from a ride and guess what. The boost issue is still there, wtf? I did everything i could, how come the rest of trifecta guys here didn't need an updated tune for the dejon intake and i probably will? I have serious thoughts of dropping this case and put the stock intake for good, i got tired of dealing with that. What's left to do....

Put the MAF in the same position the GMPP CAI has it.
Maybe someone that has one can measure the distance from the filter to the MAF.

Actually we only get the low. Another member on another forum added a low horn, and it made little difference in noise . . . realize his error when he confirmed part numbers on the stock single horn . . . got the high tone, and got the desired result. That's the only reason I'm this sure.

about the intake, try another filter element.
check all ic hoses and see if there is a leak somewhere.
i strongly believe you need a catless tune.
if all this don't work, then something else is the problem (maybe destroyed maf sensor?)

The maf sensor works fine with the stock intake, don't know what's the problem anymore. The tuner i got the pipe from told me the filter element does not matter, however i may try another filter. After that, the next step is to mod the stock intake....

I've told Vince about the decat, he didn't mention anything. He only told me to change the intake. You're right to think of what you said, i may tell him again....
