MAP sensor o-ring size?
« on: March 31, 2011, 05:17:36 PM »
Okay, I was rushing to get the car back together the other day where I have it in storage and I inserted the MAP sensor into DDM's charge tubes without lubrication and tore the o-ring.

Went to the dealer and in order to buy the o-ring I have to buy the sensor so I'm gonna have to go somewhere that sells o-rings to get one.

Anyone know the size of the o-ring on the MAP sensors in our charge tubes off the top of their heads? I'm hoping to have the o-ring when I go back to the car next week some time.
Just trying to do my part...

I tossed the information over to POS VETT on another forum.  If he does not have the information you need, let me know.  I still have a bag of them somewhere and could certainly send you a few.

Thanks for the offer POS VETT and JoshMcMadMac. If I can't find the size of the o-rings, I just might take have to take someone up on the offer.

I was hoping to get the size as the car is in storage in a warehouse somewhere and it's not easy for me to get at it. I don't believe it'll leak at the o-ring though so I could wait until it comes out of storage to fix it. Like you POS VETT, it just bothers me that it's torn.

He did not get you the size?  It is McMaster-Carr part #9464K118, which gives the dimensions:

So it's a standard o-ring, thanks for the link. Shouldn't be tough to get a few of those locally. There's a store not far from here that sells o-rings.

If I hit a brick wall I know where I can get some.  ;)  You guys are awesome.

I copied the specs here in case the McMaster-Carr link gets changed.

Type O-Ring

O-Ring Type Standard (as opposed to metric)

Cross Section Shape Round
