Stunner Lights - Impressions
« on: April 03, 2011, 06:57:33 AM »
Finished the install of my LED upgrade from Stunner Lights.  It was a pretty simple install AFTER I got instructions (none were in the box).  Most of the lights were little more than pull the old, place the new.  Exceptions were of the front turn signals and rear brake/turn lights, which required wiring in resistors (included), and the license plate light which requires connecting the lights to existing wires and changing out a bracket (included).

Jay was great when I placed my order and shipped them out quickly even though I have an overseas military address.  He was also quick to email me with directions on what went where and a few tips.  (Jay, you really need to type out an instruction sheet to include with each order)

As far as the look and function, I'm happy with them.  They are a slight bit brighter and the turn signals blink on and off instantly as compared to the old incandescent bulbs.  The other great part is that they get rid of the "egg yolk" look of the fog lights!

Lights that were changed were:

Front Turn Signals
Front Side Marker Lights
Interior/Map Lights
Rear Brake/Turn Signals
Trunk Light
Reverse Lights
Rear License Light

Nice review of the light package. Was looking at getting the same thing, just wanted more performance mods first!

Thanks for being the first for doing this mod. And please keep us up to date on the longevity of life for the bulbs. They should last forever, but we never know with a new product.

Any chance of some night time pics for the new lights?

Also, how bout some pics of the kit installation locations for the resistors and such. Were they solder in or vampire clip?

I'll have to take the fog and tail lights off again to take pics of the install locations, I don't see that happening for a while with the weather doing its craziness at the moment.

No soldering or wire stripping involved, but the clips they provide are one size to small in my opinion.  They were a pain to close/clamp onto the factory wires.

Wait for it to get dark, Go outside, Turn your lights on, Stare for as long as you want.  That's what they look like only slightly brighter.

Without a before and after shot using the same camera settings (ISO, F-stop and shutter speed) with the same lens, at the same angle under the same lighting conditions there won't be any noticible difference save for the star pattern on the brake lights...
