CT, you took the words right out of my mouth. The in-mirror turn signals are an overlay, designed to attach directly to the outside of the existing mirrors.

In fact if the OEM glass was required to be replaced as the result of (say) a collision with a garbage can, the instructions imply the broken glass isn't to be removed. Further, the plastic piece holding the mirror to the mirror-motor cannot be purchased separately and the whole unit needs be replaced if damaged.

So, on the back of this new mirror find double-sided contact tape as strong as the material used by the shop if this mod was done for maintenance. There’s no need to remove the OEM mirror and the installation is fairly straight forward.

These are three unique mirror designs that no other car on the road enjoy, anywhere! Both the ‘grill lights’ and ‘in-mirror turn signals’ only enhance the beauty of the car and the joy received as others view it.

Thanks to all who have participated in this thread. I look forward to assisting where I can and to hear from those that have seen these mods once installed.

Jay

POST #1 Updated with License plate fixture Pics and Installation. Thanks Jay for a HUGE improvement in lighting the plate. This is what several of us were trying to accomplish at last years SMMM for a day or so with just an LED swap.  :poke:

Hmm. Interesting.  I did just the LED swap and mine is much brighter than the original. (In fact, too bright now & too easily seen :) )

We'll have to compare this year - I hoping we will both be there at the same time, this time :)

My LED bulb swap worked out well too. Even lighting and good brightness. I'm curious to see what Stunner Lights came up with though.
Just trying to do my part...

Updated post #1 with anther picture of the mounting element to give a better idea of what was installed.

Also, I received my Professional LED Lights today (USPS)... Can't wait to take more pics and do this install today. I think the rain will hold off for me to get this done before dark, so I can enjoy her new "look".

GO-N-Def recently did this install and should not take very long except for the backup lights and front turn signal/load resistor installs.

As I found in my rear LED conversion, you don't need a lot of current (a 3W bulb was enough draw) to avoid the bulb-out hyperflashing.  I suggest you try the bulbs (one corner at a time) first before attaching the resistors to see whether you actually need the resistors or not.

If they DO hyperflash without the resistors, I'd be concerned with the amount of light they throw (given the low current/watts drawn).  Compare brake lights side to side to make sure you are happy with the light output before you proceed with the resistors.  Just a suggestion :)

TS, I did that.  The resistors are needed.

CT, something else you may notice is that the reverse lights glow dimley after the vehicle is turned off.  This lasts as long as the car is "powered on."  What I mean is, when you turn the car off, you can still hear the speakers on like their waiting for the door chimes activte for about 5-10 min or so.

Professional LED Light kit was installed.  I was absolutely amazed how easy it was to get tot the backup lights by removing the taillights first and then just reaching into the bumper housing.
