New from South Dakota
« on: June 08, 2011, 11:20:28 AM »
Well I've been lurking for about a week and figured I'd introduce myself. My name's Mike, I work in a dealer parts department in Sioux Falls. My wife bought a showroom condition 2006 Solstice with a 5 speed and Monsoon audio, silver with a black top and interior and only 10,300 miles. She is a huge Transformers fan and we are going to do some subtle mods to mimic the Transformers Edition Camaro. Unfortunately the car is in the body shop at the moment. She got rear ended by a drunk driver after having the car 6 days. Luckily the damage is minor.

Welcome!
I'm assuming (and hope) she was not hurt in the accident - the sheetmetal, though mentally stressing, can be replaced.

I know about the modding bug. It latches on and sucks the blood out of your bank account. I'm thinking removable hardtop, jpm center console, maybe some lighted sills, all three DDM braces, and one of those lighted wind deflectors. And a set of snow tires, this is going to be an all season DD.

Welcome indeed to the forum Mihela816!  Carol and I were able to visit your state about 25 years ago when we took our two sons to South Dakota on vacation and we also stayed overnight in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Your state is beautiful and the Black Hills awesome.  From the looks of it you have done an awesome job of selecting mods for your pride and joy.

Welcome Mike! Enjoy the forum!

I'm glad your wife's Solstice only suffered minor damage and she was okay.

Welcome Aboard! I am very familiar with the western half of SD. I lived in the Rapid City area for 5 years and loved it! It was one of our top possible retirement places but the longer we are away from the snow the less we want to see it again! Sorry to hear about your car...hope everyone is alright.
