Topic: Running a wire from the cabin into the driver's door

OK, so I think I know the general path this needs to take (under the dash on the driver side, thru the conduit thru the engine bay and to the door). Any tips on how to snake this? Seems like a severe PITA, but I've got some wiring I'm going to run for remotely controlling the windows (once I'm done, I'll put together a post to detail).

I drilled a new hole near the plastic 'junction' box into the cabin (didn't like the idea of running wires into the engine bay...especially since it was for audio purposes).

Use a grommet, then put some caulking in there to seal it up....works fine

I will admit its not the cleanest for a show car, but you cant see anything and it will "git 'er done"

Back to the original question... I untaped and unclipped the plastic conduit to run through there.  I also pulled the rubber accordion tube out of the door end and straightened it some, to fish the wires through it, then plugged it back into the door.

OK, I wasn't sure how doable that was. Sounds like a plan to me...

BTW, soup. I got your "basic" auto up/down done. There was one critical troubleshooting step you missed, but I figured out, so I'll add that to my add-on writeup.

TS was right. Make sure you pull the rubber conduit that runs into the door out or you'll waste as much time as Bryan and I did trying to snake the new wires into the door. Pull the rubber conduit out of the door, snake the wires and re-installed the rubber conduit into the door without any problems. This should take about 10-15 minutes per door.

So, here's the highlevel of what i have planned (on top of Soup's original)

* Roll up when arming the alarm (ok locking the doors)
* Remotely vent the windows using the stock remote
* Remotely roll down the windows with the stock remote

I'm kinda taking Soup's auto windows, Soup's motion detector and the Malibu forum thread and rolling it all up in a big ball.
