Car got run over :-/
« on: July 25, 2011, 08:42:42 AM »
Well befor I left for georga for a wedding I walked outside to find my driver side bumper squashed in and the front light and hood squashed to.
Pretty much looks like someone jumped the parking curb and turned the wheel to far trying to back out and ran over the car grrr , it def was a truck,
I'll take a pic when I get back home. Insurence comes out Tom to handle it but my question is, has anybody had any problems getting body parts for our cars after a accident
Just wondering if it takes a while to get body parts for the sol and how long should I expect the car to be down for or if they can't get body parts for it at all and they would call it a loss

So sorry to hear about another irresponsible driver not leaving a note  :censor:

Side panel and headlamp should be easy to find......hoods, not so much.

Might be time to look at one of Norms Hoods.

I agree, look at norms hoods first.

Some have had issues getting parts, however I have not had an issue yet. I had a hood in a week or so. Bumpercovers were just in a few days. Total downtime from wreck to fix was one month on my deer. (but I drove it dented for almost 3 of the 4 weeks)

Not what I was expected when I saw run over.

Still sucks. How hard is it to get Solstice hoods?
I know it's a nightmare for Sky's

The hood won't be hard to get a hold of. GM stocks them in several warehouses. Same with the bumper.

If there is nothing else wrong with the hood as far as fitment and alignment on the hood, it would probably be best to rework the one on you have on the car. However you need to check the alignment of the top pins. and see how it releases.

If you can rework the hood, you could use the money to get a chin splitter or a custom norm front bumper.... I like the 430 replica bumper as well as the custom one I have seen on the big boards.

Sorry about what happened to the car and that someone would leave like they did.

miller11386, the pictures that you saw were posted here as well. The Kappa Performance forum is the new "big board".   :D
