It has come to my attention that the lower voltage in DRL systems sometimes cause the HID bulbs and ballast to fail prematurely. The problem is when the DRLs are on they use a lower wattage to power the bulbs vs having the regular headlighs on. For regular halogen bulbs this is no problem but for HID bulbs and ballasts it is. Because they need a certain wattage to work correctly. Now the HID bulbs will come on and work with the DRL system using a lower wattage but it makes the bulbs and ballasts work harder causing them to fail quicker. So to bypass this problem you can either get a DRL wiring harnest which will cost you extra or you can either turn off the DRLs by turning off the Autolight feature manually everytime you get in the car. Or you can simply do what I did and just remove the DRL fuse underhood and still have the Autolight feature without having to manually turn it off and on
