Helios is running a 2.4 so this will not work for you. Recommend calling around to some of the vendors here. They may have some options for you.

That's correct. I got my ported head from DDM, but it's for the LE5. Also, Dave has mentioned that they haven't found a solution for cams for the LE5. I wasn't even aware that ZZP offered cams for the LNF, but then again I don't go looking for LNF items very much.

Yup.. was hoping it was a leak or something but no..
I opened up the valve cover and found two broken springs. :banghead:
So now I'm looking into performance head/ cam options while I have it taken apart.

As for the ported heads, engine builds. We have been doing quite a bit of them here. We haven't even advertised it, but we have done 15 Ecotec engines this year already ranging from basic LE5 rebuilds to some really nasty 2.0L builds (almost 700hp). We can do just the headwork or a full long block or short block. Now that we are pretty comfortable with the pricing and turn around time, once the open house is over those builds will start showing up on the website.

A better explanation on the cams - The cams on the LE5 and LNF engines have passages in the front for oil to get up to the variable valve actuators. Therefore everyone that I have seen doing anything with the cams are simply doing regrinds on stock cams, which is not a bad thing, but limits what can be done since you can only take so much off the cam base circle. We have played with a couple cam setups for the 2.0L and the 2.4L now and although there is some improvement, it would be great if we could actually get some cam blanks. I looked into that also and went all the way to the company that actually makes them for GM, and they were completely open to selling cam blanks with GM's permission and that is where the road stopped after making several calls to different people in GM, they just kept sending me around in circles and it looks like there was no way to get permission from GM to buy the cam blanks.

Hope that helps,
Dave

Did the company require any proof that GM said it would ok?
Looks like they would not be able to verify one way or another considering you can't get an answer.

Yes, they needed a letter from GM giving permission, anyone have any GM letterhead around?

PM sent.

I hope you do not mind, but figured I would answer your PM here since others are probably wondering the same thing.

We do have a limited number of engines here and do offer a core exchange program on the short blocks, long blocks and heads if they are available at the time of ordering. On the engines there are some that have the oil cooler and some that do not and this is something that makes core swap on engines a little more difficult. The core exchange program allows us to build the head and block and ship it to you ready to be installed and then you send us back a core once it is removed from the car. This offers the shortest downtime possible with the engine and head builds.
