o2 sensor help.
« on: March 20, 2012, 11:08:25 AM »
Would anyone know where the grey part of the sensor goes? I do not see anywhere behind the engine that it would go. Also, would anyone know how I run the wire up to the engine? It seems that running it along the cat is the easiest. But I would think it would melt being so close. Thanks!

There shoud be a push pin on the end of the connector and that goes into a bracket with a hole back behind the engine.
You might need a flashlight to see where it goes behind the engine.
The dealership I used to take my GXP for service once just left it dangling and it was touching the Cat and started to melt the covering on the wires.

Here are a couple pictures that might help you out. We have a car here right now without any of the plastic shrouding by the window on it. The secondary O2 sensor plugs into a harness that comes off directly behind the head. We then ran the wires down next to the frame rail to keep the wires away from the downpipe.

Hope that helps,
Dave
