Topic: CO levels from exhaust

i had the 5th annual service and it was hard to get an emission card, because the CO levels from my exhaust are high (Solo Mach Shorty and Solo dp with cat).

the first guy told me that it could be a bad cat or a leak somwhere in the exhaust.

the second guy told me it must be fuel related, so he checked the evap (all good) and checked hoses form and to occ (all good).

he told me to return to stock tune, drive some miles and then go and see if it gets any better.

any ideas anyone? previous experience?

I'd guess it has to do with your tune.  You have a cat, it is only a few years old, probably not bad. 
My suggestion is to ship the car to California and I will get it checked here.

Brazen, yes i have the select a tune, i pushed the button and tried to pass the emission test with the stock tune selected, no luck. But the guy said to drive a few hundred miles with it and then try it. I got my emission pass for now, just trying to figure why this is happening

High flow cats not only reduce NOx emissions they also help to reduce CO emissions. 

It's actually not too bad swapping downpipes on the kappa.  I have my first emissions test 7 years after the car is produced, so for my, my first e-test will be in 2015.  I will put my stock downpipe back on for that, and will swap out the studs between the turbo and the downpipe for some new ones, and reinstall with some high-temp copper based anti-seize.  Been there . . . done that . . . without this stuff, you can pretty much assume you're not getting the nuts off the studs again.
