Probably with some guidance on the steps involved I could replace it. That hose material looks like it might be prone to failure, it feels like I could poke a hole easily thru it with my finger, seems very dried out, not flexible at all. May be the heat of the engine has impacted the flex hose, looks like the ribs just broke and then pushed out thru the fabric opening a hole. As I mentioned before there was never any work done around this outside of Dave/Randy installing it and it has gotten worse (MAF issue) over time so perhaps the hose is just aging and breaking down, so one rib breaks then the next. Where this is broke is probably at a point near the engine where the heat would be just about the highest.
Makes a lot of sense now why I might be getting the occasional issue with something contaminating my MAF and it doesn't seem to be oil. This would certainly defeat the air filter. I couldn't see the issue until I happened to be checking the clamps and the broken rib caught my finger.
Muffler tape might seal it up where the ribs are protruding. Trouble is the material on the hose itself seems to be aging very quickly , like more ribs could come thru so probably better to replace it.
