Topic: Windshiled wiper issue

So I started driving home yesterday in 102 heat and along the way my windshield wipers start going in motion. At first I thought I must have accidentally hit the lever. I move the wiper lever up and down and it stays on at one speed. I pull off into a parking lot and turn the car off for a moment. Starting back up it goes back in motion? At this point there was nothing I could do there so I start driving home. About 2 more minutes into driving they stopped for a moment and started again and then eventually stopped for the rest of the way home.

Any idea on how to locate what the problem could be?

Looking at the schematic and with the exception of the FAST speed, the wipers are operated by the BCM, not directly via the switch.  There are actually two fuses, and you could debug better where the problem lies by removing one of them if this happens again... Fuse 15 in the BCM (passenger footwell) supplies power to the steering column switch (which the BCM 'reads' to operate the wipers and speeds).  If it happens again and you remove this, then that implies it's the switch that's at fault and not just the BCM randomly turning them on.  Fuse 59 in the underhood fuse box, supplies the main power to the relay and wiper motor.  If removing the other fuse doesn't stop the wipers, this one should!

TS  , Do our cars have a sensor that detects water or moisture on the windshield ( rain sensors ) ? I know mine was on intermiting at low and it started raining harder and the wiper speed increased to high without touching anything else. this happen when ever it starts raining real hard but only on the intermiting cycle.

Nope.  Sorry.   They may be speed sensitive though, so when on intermittent and waiting at a light they go slower than when you get going.  Maybe that's what you saw?

They are speed sensitive... at least when you have it on the highest intermittent speed and cross over 50mph, they auto-magically go to low speed (non-intermittent)

I do know that when I went faster they did speed up but it also starting raining harder or just thought it did ?

Must not, you would think dead people would be pretty jealous, even envious for that matter, of the living but you don't see many living dead people.  Wait how would you know they were dead?  You know GJ maybe it does work and that explains politicians.
