Dang, I always assumed the those WR series were Precision turbos and they had separately the EFR raw and EFR complete set up. Good thing to know. The price kept me away from looking too hard. That could open the door for the WR3 if its an EFR 6758 direct bolt on for an OEM manifold. For LV, is the WR3 meant for the twin scroll? and No additional BOV needed correct?

I wish I did websites! GJ, can I have some more money.
Yes, the WR3 should be a twin scroll setup just like the ZFR. No external BOV need it, although it does not mean you you cannot add one.
By the way I think if you want to use the EFR-6758 as it comes from Bog Warner, WERKS I hope should still sell you one and the added hardware.

Neither the ZFR or our WR-3 turbos are twin scroll turbos, I will be starting a thread in our vendor section to share more about our turbos

Wait I thought the ZFR was dual scroll still?

Dave would know, I think he has played with a fee of them on cobalt builds.

WOW, time out here.
EFR-6758 can be configure to be twin scroll according to Bog Warner.
What is then the point of modifying the Flange and compressor housing to fit the OEM manifold that feeds the twin scroll capabilities of the turbo.
The K04 is a twin scroll turbo and thus the configuration of the manifold to feed the 4-1 runners pulse to one chamber and then the 2-3 runners pulses to the other chamber.

Here is prove.

COMP COVER A

EFR 6758 Twin Scroll w/o WG T4 0.92 A/R - List $2,217 Price $1,749
EFR 6758 Single Scroll w/ WG T25 0.64 A/R - List $2,497 Price $1,549

450HP

No twin scroll on the T25, ZFR or our cast stainless steel EFR 6258 and 6758 exhaust housings.

Twin scroll happens on the exhaust side not the compressor side, it has to be engineered into the exhaust housing which is ver complex and expensive and quite honestly not worth the maybe 150rpm gain in response it would yield.

The K04 is a twin scroll turbo, it was developed that way to fit the torque curve design goals of the LNF engine.  Engineers wanted maximum response and a broad torque curve since the engine was never developed to be a high rpm design.

Hope that helps...

As far as I know, they were not built, twin scroll versions are on the list but never manufactured for small frame EFRs.

PS: This is from some time ago. May be this changed meanwhile but not everything which is in official letters exists ;)

So you are saying is not a T4 configuration on the ZZP.
If that is the case then Dave there is absolutely no reason to go with it.
I rather save the extra money when buying one and instead change the manifold to the one GMTECH had build.
I will then have to ask Dave from DDM if their GT2871 is also a T25 and not a T4 configuration.

The ZFR, our Wr2 and wr3 6258 and 6758 turbos AND Gmtechs EFR are all T25 based, I know because we sold Gmtechs all of his stuff!!!

The t4 is not the correct housing for the LNF, just not enough space to properly package it.

The gt2871 that DDM sells uses the OEM LNF exhaust side and retains the twin scroll capabilities, however due to the antiquated gt2871 architecture is still has more lag than the 450hp capable EFR 6758.

We were using the Stainless headers manifold that Gmtech switched to but unfortunately every one had massive failures so we stopped selling them.

I posted this elsewhere.
The 2871 scrolls only 100rpms later than the ZFR which is similar to your WR3.

When does the WR3 hit full boost?

scrolls?   what the hell is scrolling?  :)

Elff are you talking about spool?  ;)

that 100 rpm difference in scroll, I mean SPOOL (if there are any).....will be virtually not noticeable at all.

HAHAHA
It's pretty funny what the brain does sometimes.
We have been talking so much about the manifolds, that when I typed scroll vs Spool my brain didn't even notice.

Yes, Spool

My tuner also told me that both the ZFR and the 2871 push 44-45 lbs/min if air at the 27-28psi of boost.

So the 2 are very similar.

You do notice is a little bit compared to the stock turbo, but since it is still so low once you hit it, you can stay in full boost on every shift.

I would love for some information on the WR3 to be posted.

Flaxenfilly
I have some information on the S20, but it was second hand.
When does your Boyfriends hit max boost?
When does your EFR hit max boost?

Lets give the O.P. some good data

IMO, it will really be tough to compare these different turbos EFR, ZFR, DDM gt2871 upgrade, regular gt2871 turbos............since they are using different types of manifolds (stock manifold, garrett manifold, SS manifold).

those different manifold will have their pros and cons.........and will also affect turbo transient response and turbo spool reaction times.

so each person providing useful info, should state what turbo they have, and what manifold....to make it less confusing.

Didnt Kelu used a garrett manifold with gt3071r?

gt2871r - gt3582r turbos also will bolt on to stock manifolds with some adaptors and modifications.

EFR turbo will bolt on to stock manifold? or the ss manifolds.

DDM 2871r turbos will bolt on to the stock manifold

ZFR stock manifold

and etc....

Sort of.  But all of that doesn't really matter for the information I am looking for.
We know what a full setup will push HP wise on a lot of these.
[Well, I think the only S20 HP claims we have were exaggerated so that might be more information we can get from Nikki]
But response time is a key factor in deciding how to improve the HP of a vehicle.

The K04 is a great street turbo and any change from that will net some lag.
I am just trying to see how much for 2 other setups we have in the wild.

If the OP likes either, we have the ability to give him an exact parts list for each.

Kelu did use a garrett manifold.
His car took longer than mine to get into the power band, but then you better be holding on because it freaking hit hard and was fun as hell.

S20 bolts to the stock manifold with an adapter.

Actually guys Tyler's car is still faster than mine. I'll tell you why but see if anyone can guess first.

I will say I have no idea what the S20g is capable of pushing. Both my car and Tyler's are on stock internals, so we are limited to around 400 each. I will be doing a full engine build on my car in the future while Tyler's car will stay where it is at until after we buy a house. Then we will be looking into a swap for it. My end goal for my car is ~700 and Tyler's will be more than that.

The s20g hits 20 pounds at 4,200 and full boost builds from there depending on how high you have it set.

s20g will flow more air than your efr turbo, so probably it will beat you in a 1/4 mile.  It will be close.

but yours will be a better street driven.......stop light to stop light

what turbo are you planning for your 700hp goal?    you better get the big EFR turbos.  Hopefully, they'll bolt on to your current manifold.
