Ok, i need some help fellas.

This is what I have right now:

In a box, I have my Stock ECM safely stored away.

In my car, I have an Extra ECM with Westers Race Tune.

How can I get my Extra ECM with GMPP Tune + Westers Tune without having to take my car to the dealer with the Extra ECM installed??

Can I take my car into the dealer with my Stock ECM and have them put the GMPP Tune on it, and then come home and do a full read (about 20 min) of my Stock ECM, then send that file to Lyndon for an updated tune and then install that new Westers Tune onto my Extra ECM?

So i can do exactly what i posted above ? As long as i have the New GMPP Tune Calibration, i can install the tune onto my extra ecm?
I asked Lyndon and he said no...but I think I probably worded it differently and it might have confused him.

Do the GMPP on the stock ECM and then read it and send it to Lyndon.  Also keep your Race tune handy to email he.  Then flash the GMPP tune on the replacement ECM and wait for Lyndon to send back an upgraded tune.

Do you have to worry about the Clutch position/Relearn on the spare?

Ah ok, genious!  I didnt think about it that way.  So you're saying to do a read of the GMPP calibration and send Lyndon (2) files, the GMPP full Scan + my current race tune file.
Then just install the GMPP tune onto my Extra ECM, completely replacing westers tune.
Then wait for Westers new Race Tune file and install it on the Extra ecm.

Let me know if this is correct :)

True, im wondering this aswell.

Kind of lost me as to why you are flashing the GMPP on the second ECM, it will be part of what Lyndon sends back, so you would in the end have a stock ECM with the stock GMPP, then on the spare you would have a Wester's GMPP+

because he if he upgrades his car to the GMPP, then the stock ECM will be set aside and a copy of the stock GMPP will be placed onto the replacement ECM.  If he didn't, it would throw codes.  Then when Westers updates the tune, put that on the replacement ECM and enjoy.  He can always go back to the stock ECM with the GMPP tune to goto the dealer.

No the clutch doesn't get learned into each ECM

I figured he would just use his stock ECM until the new tune came from Lyndon, but that works too.

Goat, i see your point also.  I guess i can do it either way.

I was just worried that the only way to get the gmpp calibration was to be hooked up to the tech 2.  But i guess since im already doing that with my stock ecm, then i can just transfer it over to my extra ecm.

Thanks fellas! :)

And when you get the tune back from Lyndon it will be based on your GMPP that you sent him. One way or another you will end up with the GMPP on both just one will be a little bit better.

Don't worry Spiky just get another brain, we'll call it your spare, get it flashed with what you knew yesterday and then have it installed in place of your stock one.  Making your stock one the new spare and the spare the new stock one, your still with me on this right? Now your new stock one not the old stock one thats the new spare won't remember any of what has happened here so you won't have to remember that you don't understand any of this.  If for some strange reason you do need to remember this just reinstall the old stock one which is the new spare in place of the now old new stock one which was the old spare.  I hope that this makes things a little clearer.  :idk:

YES, you just stop by the dealer and bend over and let them drive, things will become clear almost immediately.

I guess that depends on if you knew what the crankshaft was on the old brain.
