Intruder Has a Formula Hood and Recessed Grills
« on: August 21, 2009, 12:08:58 PM »
After two months of hard work, Intruder finally has a new look.  Norm's Fiberglass Formula Hood was re-fitted, prepped, and painted by Vinny at Newbridge Auto in Bellmore, NY.  The hood had to be sanded a few times and the edges had to be smoothed out.  It was a lot of prepping, but it was worth it in the end.  Vinny and I laid out the stripes on the heat extractors, and they look great!  Also, Solster's recessed grills were painted black and fitted into the front grill location with ease.  The shop used some of their Super Glue to attach the two-piece grills.  I would like to send a big thank-you to Norm, Rudy, and Vinny who helped give Intruder a face-lift.  Here are the pictures:

Ha ha...everything is louder now too...the DDM Intake sounds mean as hell with all of the openings in the hood.  It sounds like its sucking in air like a wind tunnel now.  So awesome!

Boy that looks mean, I thought will be a problem with seeing over the hood but you expected that and posted a clearing photo.

Congrats to all who put this into practice.

DDM has a Mach II setup which features their true CAI, intercooler, and IC pipes...along with custom shrouding.

Price? Don't think I've seen it on their site...

This has piqued my interest...DDM goodies are always cool, engine mods from them would be even better!

I was a prototype, so I am not sure on the price...give Dave a call.

Really looks great Steve! Love the look.

No fitment issues with the grills I take it?

Thanks guys...no fitment issues with the grills...very slight bulge at bottom, but nothing you can see unless you are staring right at it from 2 feet away.

The scoops are functional if you are using the stock airbox.  Norm gives you a top that attaches under the hood and mates to the OEM airbox.  I already have a shrouded off true CAI from DDMWorks, so it was not necessary.  I use it to keep the engine bay cool.  The heat comes out of the top extractors and the cold air blows in from the front.

Lookin' good Steve. Here's the song 'Intruder' fron Van Halen. Now it reminds me of your car when I hear it. I got my grills last week, but I'm waiting for a new bumper to put them in.

Hey Spikey, any chance you could post your pix in the gallery section? I'm at work for the next month, and sites like photobucket are blocked.  :banghead: Which means I can't see the Intruder pix until mid September.  :cryin:

Yep, know what you mean. That's one bad ass car and the driver isn't too bad either.
