Please I am not  :bdh: but have an honest question.  I am pretty much getting used to my new Tune now and have been able to reach 23 psi in boost inall 5 gears.  Is that normal with a tune or should I be reaching for more.  Personally, I feel that 24 psi boost would be to much, due to my age as well as considerations for the longevity of the engine.  Anyone getting 24 boost with Westers, GM, Martins, or BSR?

I get 25 psi in all gears with Westers.  Been like this for a couple months now.
23 seems normal though.

the 2007 is limited by the ECM to 23, the 2008 and up is different software and is 25 PSI.  Then there are those who use HPTuners to overboost and Trifecta who can control the boost via his own methods.

I'm not a programmer or tuner or affiliated to any tuner but from what I've learned, the boost # doesn't really matter too much and we are so far off the compressor map limits of the stock turbo that there isn't much more we can get out of our Borg Warner K04s.

So very sorry wegman.  Man that sucks, cracked pistons, bent rods, almost new everything, report back when you get your baby fixed, and let us know when it is in working order.

When I first had my 07 GXP (used with 11K miles, babied) I was getting 21 occasionally 22 psi.  bone stock.  Now, after putting 1500 miles on it, I only get 18 occasionally 19.  The first owners completely babied the car.  She told me she never had is above 65 mph and never heard the tires chirp.  I am wondering if it is learning my driving and de-tuning?  Either way, if I was seeing 21 stock (and I mean STOCK) than 23 should be nothing to worry about.

More light ECM limits.  I have the westers tune and I see solid 22.  I have a overboost update from WG but haven't installed it yet.

Pull fuses 42/43 for 30 seconds and then drive it like you stole it.  The ECM learns your driving habits.

As Joe states, "the 2007 is limited by the ECM to 23 psi, the 2008 and up is different software and is 25 psi".  So, I guess if I had a Dashawk maybe I would be there to?  Anyway, I could not handle more, but it is nice to dream!

I am not sure exactly what Joe means, as I understand it the 2007 can only display up to 23 on the DIC, but can boost over 23. I will get an analog boost gauge at the mod meet I hope and we can see more. The Dashawk comes direct off the OBD port which is fed by the ECM, the manual boost gauge comes off the engine, no electronics involved just a real reading of actual boost.

Just got the GMPP Turbo upgrade parts installed on my 09 gxp coupe.  Full throttle I've seen boost 18 psi, no higher..where I would see 13-15 max before.  Is there a way I can tell if the computer flash was installed properly?   There are no 'codes' or abnormal dash indicators.  I assume any difference I'd see in acceleration would only be at boost higher than stock?  Or are there timing changes etc that would change the torque / HP curves?

Bringing this thread back goat because you never came back to report on the result of the analog boost gauge?

Goat has not posted sine 11-27. I have installed an Autometer mechanical analog boost gauge. The nice thing about it is that the reading is direct from a port in the intake manifold with no hesitation. With the Westers tune I am seeing well over 23 psi of boost in rev ranges that the DIC showed only 23psi (07 Redline so the DIC programming limits the display to 23psi). The only issues I had with the hardware is that the little plastic line would pop out of the rubber boot on the plastic "t", so I installed 1/4" fuel line spring clamps.

Wegman Sorry for your busted piston and rod but at least your covered by warranty. I blew out a piston last month but my car is not covered I had a BSR tune on top of a Gm perf. tune- 25 lbs almost instant boost through out rpm range Fast for a short time . should make some people think before slapping on a bigger turbo etc.  Gray Wolf
