Shopping for Some New Kicks
« on: January 28, 2010, 11:33:21 AM »
Since y'all are graciously funding my modding habbits in the form of your hard-earned tax dollars, I figured I ask you guys for some websites where I can buy a new set of wheels.  Oh, I need the size and bolt pattern while we're at it.  Thanks!

Hi Mike, or should I say Chief, bolt pattern is a 110, knowing you and your lead foot, I would say get 18X9's for the rear with a 45mm offset or something close to that, you can get the same for the front or 18X8's with a 55mm offset, that is the stock size. The 18X9 will get you to a 275 tire in some brands and a 265 in others. I like the staggered look, but not everyone does. I think Tire Rack has the best prices and a decent selection, Discount Tire ahs a few that fit, Gravana has some, Werks has some and I believe Kappasphere has some too. That should get you started.

I'm looking for something with a little more custom look to it.  I want to go chrome with a black inlay.

Tanner Foust the rally car driver and drifter?

I'm really hoping you meant Chip Foose...

Love the Foose wheels, hate all the little bumps that stick up. Must be hell to keep clean.  :banghead:

GJ, I like those wheels, specially the top one, but I'm with G8TR on the little knobby things.  Might go with that if I can't find anything else...

Joe, I looked at tire rack and discount tire already, but I'll try out the custom wheel site...

Afraid I have to vote with Ben on this one.  Tastes vary, but for me, anything with fake rivets or flashy nonfunctiopal add-ons rub me the wrong way.  Those particular wheels wouldn't look out of place in reduced size form hanging from a Christmas tree.  No offence intended.

Check this site out, it's than manufacturers site, lots of people sell enkei. And Solstice-Sport one of our sponsors sells them as special order.

This one looks about right for you, the wheels are gay too.

Funny, everyone seems to be dead set on lower weight, even the guys that aren't competing.  Not that this is a bad thing, it is always good in principal (as long as strength isn't sacrificed).

But I can't help wondering what a Kappa would look like with some retro wire wheels as used on old British and new rods.  As it happens, they make them in 18" x 8".....

Its an appropriate response to the last few posts, so I'll do it again . . . .   :barf:

You guys are dehydrating me with all these hideous wheels.

Remember, its Kappa PER-FORMANCE, not Kappa PIMP-FORMANCE

Sorry Go-N-Def, I gotta call 'em like I see 'em, and those are not for me.  I'm sure they would look fantastic on your car; especially stylish for those ocassions when you are busy keepin' you beeatches in line.
