Is this anyone's Kappa on this forum?
« on: July 18, 2011, 11:34:59 PM »
I found a possible transplant recipient for Amelia's parts.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Saturn-Sky-Roadster-Sweet-Saturn-Sky-Convertible-2007-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2c5e0f8760QQitemZ190556637024QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks

I can get approved for it, but I just don't know if I want to jump on it quite yet. Don't care for the wood grain interior and it looks like one of the fenders is cracked. Anyway, does it belong to someone on the forum?

considering it is a 2.4 and 07 non monsoon.  You shouldn't pay anymore than 12 for it.

I found a white one closer to Charleston that wants a little over $14k. The top is tan though which I didn't like, but it doesn't have the wood grain dash kit. I really don't want to pay more than $12k for one anyway.

It's clean, 2.4 Liter but 68,821 miles on the Odometer seems like a lot of miles for a 2007, don't know if it is worth $14,497, seems to be priced a bit high, should be some bargaining room!  I would pass on this one and hold out for lower miles on another!  If you indeed are still interested be sure to check condition, rust etc...

I'm in negotiations with the dealer about the white one. I low balled the offer and it was declined. He has to "talk with his manager" to see what they are willing to do.

Yeah, I was thinking the same.  Sure doesn't look like a twisted frame.  Most of the front bits just unbolt.  Might be worth a look.  I think it's at the same place as the other white one he is looking at....

I'm trying to close the deal on the white one in Acworth, GA. Hope I'll be an owner of a functioning Kappa once again. Then it'll be off to DDM to get transplanted with parts from Amelia.

Things seem to be lining up. Just waiting on loan approval. DDM Dave's dad lives close to the dealer and is going to test drive and inspect it for me. What luck! I tell you the folks at DDM have great customer service! They will always have my business! I'm still in WA state (for another month or two), so I won't personally see the car for a few months and how ever long it takes to get everything transplanted over.

Good to see you are coming back home Joey! Knew we couldn't keep you away too long. This should be a great build with all the transplanting going on... Have fun and good luck! Good to have you back.

Update: DDM Dave's dad, Dan, inspected it and test drove the white one. Now i'm hesitant to buy it. There is some minor cosmetic scratches and some rubbing of the soft top (not a big deal). However, I am concerned about the strange noise coming from the engine bay which Dan thinks is something accessory related and not directly engine related. I could have the whole engine swapped out, but that's just more $$$.

I'm going to go ahead and get the white one. If anything I'll just have Dave swap out the whole motor. I hope it doesn't come to that. I will be starting a new thread for the build.
