Yup
But it was illegal according to the regulations.

So I think their entire engine design got shit canned and you are seeing how it performs when it is within the rules.

Pretty similar.

No Party Mode today.  So the speeds we see in Qualifying today is the actual race pace of the car.
It will be interesting to see if this shakes up the starting positions

Not sure no party mode made any difference.  Saying the cars have to remain on the track probably had more impact.

True and Ferrari still looks awful. If they do not improve for the rest of the year, Carlos Zains made a big mistake, because his car is running really good. Rciardo is the one that may benefit although is the same engine on both cars but different setups, next year will be interesting. Vettel could go to either Alpha or the yellow team and take Riciardo's place.

Keep in mind McLaren is supposed to be going to Mercedes engines, not sure if that's next year or the year after.

Which is going to make them even stronger.
Ferrari has sucked for the entire time I have watched F1.  I just don't see why anyone would want to go there simply by the way they treat their drivers and now that they are one of the bottom teams.
jees.

And Tuscan is next week!

I will start.  Bottas lost 4-5 places at the start and couldn't make up any spots, said the car was trash without 'engine' modes.  He ended up 6th.
Hamilton missed a new light (twice)  red with a yellow cross.  A new warning that means the pit is closed during a safety car.  It has never been used before and the situation had never happened before. Doesn't matter he and his crew should have known.  He and one other car went into the pits for tires.  10 second drive through penalty with 3 laps to do it.
Track goes green and another accident.  Can't do your penalty under safety car.  Finally track goes green Hamilton pulls in from 1st and comes out 29 seconds behind the last car.  27 laps to go.  Hamilton makes up those 29 seconds and 11 positions by the end of the race.  8th to spots behind Bottas.

Some one else can talk about the rest.

The best about this race who got the podiums, Gasly from Alphaturi 1st plaace, Carlos got 2nd, and Stroll got 3rd. MB was 7th and 8th and Ferrari had Vettel go out with brake problems and Lecrelc had a big accident although he was fine. I believe Riciardo was 4th.

Bottas eventually got 5th
Norris got 4th
Ricciardo got 6th
Hamilton 7th

I was really excited to see Gasly win again.  Once he got the lead he put in consistent lap after lap. This jumped him up to 8th in the overall driver standings, only 5 points behind Albon and only 2 behind LeClerc.
The current point standings are completely shuffled and it's awesome.
In the Team standings, Ferrari is 220 points behind MB.  What a disaster.

Stroll continues to have a really solid season.   4th overall at the moment.   I seriously did not see that, but something clicked in him at the end of last season and now that he has a fast car, he is getting the most out of it.

I really enjoyed the MBs and Ferrari's being out of it and watching some great racing by the other teams.

The only other thing to mention is that Williams is no longer with team Williams.  Which is kind of sad but not surprising given the problems with them getting and keeping sponsors.

So Vettel goes to racing point, racing point become Aston Martin.  Perez finds himself without a ride, Red Bull looses a Sponsor.....

It must be Crazy Season.

I Think Perez will land somewhere in one of the other teams, specially since he brings a lot of money with him.
If racing point continues to shadow MB then it should be very interesting next year.

Very interesting turn of events with Aston Martin going full in.  Vettel brings a lot of experience with him.  If he did not land a ride for 2021 I could have seen him migrating to a role like Nikki Laude did.  Eventually I still see that.
While Stroll owns the team, I do think Lance has justified his position to remain.  Before any of this happened I made multiple comments saying how good of a year he is having.  I think that will continue.
Perez brings money and there are teams that need money right now, so I have a feeling he will land somewhere.
My guess is Haas.  I am just not sure which driver they will replace.

Top 10 places are a mix up again, but it seems like MB and RedBull are both significantly faster then everyone else.
I wonder if Bottas will be more motivated tomorrow since he missed a shot due to the yellow flag.
He needs another win, or it's just another weekend of could have/Should have for him.

There is also a MotoGP race tomorrow.
and I have a car show with my local car club tonight.  Last 2 events we had over 250 vehicles.

Major Car Weekend for me.

WARNING!!!!  If your DVR is not set to 3 hrs or more, make sure you set it to record the replay tonight.

Rumor is that Austin Martin will race in British Racing Green livery.

Today's race:
1st lap, turn 4 multi-car accident - 2 cars out.  9 laps under safety car.
Lap 9, they don't make it off the starting grid, 4 more cars out, red flag with a standing start.
Lap 47, Stroll suffers a puncture or mechanical issue and has a shunt into the wall around 200mph, another red flag and standing start.
End of the race is a shootout.

Lot's of carnage, a very exciting race.
