Lyndon Wester is the guy to talk to on this subject. We had a lengthy conversation on it when I got my tune from him. He's a BIG fan of water/meth spraying.

That was a year ago, and honestly, we didn't get into details. The only disadvantage he could come up with is that in COLD temp driving, you must be careful, cuz if the water/meth solution freezes, you got no squirt, and no squirt+hot tune=BIG trouble.

He HIGHLY recommended using it, as evidently he has used it before on some of his other tunes, for Corvettes or ???? That what he does best, tuning.  The reason we didn't go for it was this car has so much power now, I couldn't see adding extra cost to daily driving, which is what this car is, LadyT's D'D'r.  It's still an option down the road, but I have other priorities 1st, like finishing the interior and finding another JOB.

Here's my experience so far.  I have a boost switch that was originally set for 10 PSI activation.  I tried two solutions: 75% methanol and 50% methanol.  The nozzle is rated at 3 gallons per hour @ 100 PSI, but the pump is a 250 PSI pump.  I have the nozzle mounted on the cold side pipe on the bend coming up from the IC, about 12" or so from the T-MAP.

With both solutions, all WOT KR was gone.  The only KR was during throttle transistions/tip-in.  I ended up smoothing all main timing tables and adding two degrees in the last two columns over 3000RPM.  the car does feel strong and I'm getting a 29 lb/min VE airflow reading, where before I was getting 27-28lb/min max.  It holds 21-22 PSI to 6500rpm

My issue is with the intake temp reading.  I can physically feel the pipe is cooler, but my IAT2s are not significantly cooler than before the install/retune.  I'm emailing the vendor for suggestions on this.  I would have thought the temps would have been significantly cooler, maybe cooler than ambient, but its not reading that way.  Lowering the boost activation results in misfiring (spray is putting out the spark).

FYI, a 50% methanol/water solution will not freeze at any temps we get in the continental US.  the -20*F windshield washer fluid is only like 30% methanol.

With your activation triggered at 10psi, how long does the meth last?

Did you make your own tune from scratch or start with a BSR or Westers?

Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info.

I tune the car with HPT :).  I've since upped the activation point to ~15PSI, and I haven't gone through an entire supply from the windshield washer resevior yet with is a little over a gallon.  I'm going to guess with the set up as it is, it will probably use a gallon every 2-4 tanks of gas depending on driving style.

I'm leaning towards a 5 or 7 gallon/hr nozzle though, and for the future I will probably upgrade to a dual nozzle set up.

When I explored this Lyndon Wester said start at about 14, I looked into the Stage 1 Devils Own, decided the Stage II might work better with the electronic controller.
