Need some assistance from anyone owning (or using) an 07,08, or 09 Sol

I need you to open your trunck, and at the back where the hinges meet the body work when the trunck is open to it's full extend, there should be rubber bump stops.  These will be located on the underside of the body work where the hinge meets the body.   I need to know how thick your stops are, mine are less than an 1/8 of an inch and I want to know if later years have thicker stops because of the spoiler.

I have a 07 Sol and the rubber bump stops are almost 3/4" thick.

Bingo that is the answer, why my trunk opens to 90 degrees and later models don't.   Now I will just have to find out where to get those.

Can't put my spoiler on until I limit the travel of the deck lid.

When I put the spoiler on my car I tried to adjust these stops and lost one. I went to the dealer and wanted to order one but they said that it came as part of the hinge and wasn't available to order separately.

Turns out that I found the old one. I added rubber under them so the trunk didn't open quite so far and hit the spoiler. I had to cut the small piece that inserts into the metal hinge and I glued the rubber in place. That was almost a year ago and haven't had a problem with them since. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
I need to wash in there.

How about just epoxy a rubber bushing to the existing stop?  Also, the basement job is done.  Except for a couple little things.  I have some of your tools so lets get together soon.

Stopped by Pontiac dealer and ordered the 07-09 stops part number 15917001, which list at 6.99, but I got them at 3.64. for a total of 7.28 w/tax

Okay so now I have to eat crow.   Seems the parts that we ordered where screws.  So we looked again, finally he called someone who had access to the original blueprints for the vehicle and they stops are part of the hinges.

So Friday, I am going to see if I can find out where the hinges are made, and maybe be able to get some from the source.
