I am looking for a constant power source under the hood that I can tap into for LEDs.  I will be installing a button to turn the LEDs on and off manually, but I don't want to leave the parking lights on, etc.

If not the battery, in what area under the hood were you hoping to be able to hook up?

I did a test run and can do it to the battery and hide the wiring quite well.  We will see how it looks tonight.

If you hook up to the battery, please remember to put in a fuse, relatively close to the battery. Last thing you want is a short...

Think he may be wanting to tap into the fuse box that sits above the battery?
I did this on another vehicle I own where I taped one of the relay pins for a override switch for a efan that helped cool a heat exchanger with an extra set of fans .  
Would have no idea if that could be done on the Sol though?

The fuse box cover above the battery has a red cover on one side of it that hides a positive post. This would be a good spot to get power.

Would that be your jump start post? You'd still want to fuse whatever you tapped off of there...

Yup that would be the best spot. Use a fused tap and your set to go!
