Feel your pain.  I've had that happen twice in my life.

The last one was 3 years ago.  The hit-and-run car lost parts and a lot of fluid.  The cop who took my statement looked around and suspected the other car had a garage or friend nearby due to the severity of the damage.  My car was totaled.

The other was about 15 years ago.  The entire passenger side was beat to bits.  But this time went a little better.  I kept searching around my apartment complex.  One night, about 2 weeks later, I found a car that was damaged all down the drivers' side.  Upon closer inspection I found large flakes of my paint still attached.  I measured from the ground on both cars and they coincided.  The officer who came to investigate my report agreed with my assessment.

The owner lived in my complex, so he went to their door (this was about 2am by this point).  The officer used cop/jedi mind tricks, and since the person wasn't under arrest, their statement was taken as testimony.  They admitted to being drunk (which they were charged and convicted for) and were also convicted of course for hit and run.  My incredible luck this first time probably cost me the second time. lol

Deep-GXP, so sorry to have this kind of thing happen, especially to a forum member.  There are a lot of creeps out there who have no sense of what is right or wrong!  Must not have been anyone around when it happened, because if someone did see the "hit and run", I believe they would at least leave a message.  Very sad indeed.

Hey bro I kno exactly how u feel!!! About 6 months after I got my car I went to Denny's came out and someone had kicked the front side panel and the next day someone flew their door open and dented the quarter panel  :cryin:  :gaah:...I was so mad, I was ready to go to jail hahahaha....But looking at the pics they'll jus put a new light, new bumper probably (depends on how deep those scratches are, but they'll prob replace it), looks like they just might have to bend the truck brackets to get it aligned again but it not bad. The quarter panel is a little harder to tell, looks like they bang it out and fill in in the deep scratches and spot paint by blending it in with the other paint. Worse case scenario is they will cut off a smal portion i think and replace it be welding on a new piece.

I just spotted a delivery truck leaving my parking lot with a bumper that looks exactly like a bumper that would cause the damage to my car.  If you notice in my pics my tail light got wacked but I also have scratches that go down about 12-15 inches.  This particular bumper that i saw today is a bumper with a sharp edge and it has a metal bar that comes down along side the bumper for about 12-15 inches.  I was thinking of going to the shops here and asking them if they recieved shipments last wednesday and if so, from which companies.  If i do get info I dont know where to go from there.  I suppose I could call them and tell them but I have no solid proof other than their truck was here last wednesday and that they're bumper matches with my damage.  What do you guys think?

If possible, check to see if any delivery trucks came through that lot that day. If  so, tell them that you are coming over to take a look at that vehicle. If they balk, hang up. Then call your insurance co. and give them their phone number; let them take it from there. Reputable organizations like UPS and FedEx seem to be good about reporting fender benders; but fly by night quickie delivery outfits, not so much.

Bump.

Yeah but what am I to do if there is no paint on their bumper?  Could i really make a claim if I think the bumper matches the damage points?

Tell the delivery company that you are in the process of checking cameras in the vicinity and will get back with them. Give them a few days to prepare to come clean. If you call back and they deny any responsibility, call your insurance company and let them do the heavy lifting.
