I presume someone probably had installed one of those rear view mirrors with temperature display and compass and utilized the temperature sensor output ?

If you were to add a mirror like that you would have to install another temperature sensor.

Mike,

You finally found the car PC that is perfect for running HPTuners while on driving for data logging.  Very cool.  Very good price for what you are getting too.  Most in dash nav systems average around the price of your car PC.

Yeah, and remember the one we were looking at a couple of years ago?  It was going for $2500.  Glad I waited!

On another positive note, my car is sitting at the VPC in Deagu.  I got the call about 45 minutes ago.  I told them not to wash it.  They really wanted to so apparently its REALLY dirty.  When I told them about my detailing hobby, they offered me a job... Like they could afford my services!  I'll pick it up on Tuesday.  The wait is going to kill me!

Picked up my Solo SQR-2 from the powder coaters, finished in satin black. The all bright work is soon to be gone from .... The Yellow Ba$tard! Trying to finish the front and rear Pontiac Star badges, painting the chrome outer trim black, leaving the red insert or painting the insert mean yellow . Any ideas ???

Pulled the trigger on my new head unit today:

http://www.revo-sys.com/proddetail.php?prod=X500.1

Got it with all the bells and whistles...

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE COOLEST MOD EVER!!! I like it a lot and for the cost of an average head unit, I would most definitely be more likely to go this way too...

DOH!  You were right, I should have checked the reply before posting.  I did pull the DRL fuse and it disabled the DRL w/o affecting other circuits.

Several people have used the cobalt mirror or gentec mirror. As SlyBob said you have to install another temp sensor. You might PM THE BOSS. I think he has done this mod.

It would be nice though if someone could program it to display in the DIC.

It would, I agree.  But trouble is there's so much I want to display on the DIC  that it's just another thing to cycle through.

That's why I got the UltraGauge... I use the DIC for Boost, and then the main screen of the UG for MPG, Coolant temp, Ambient temp, Battery volts, trip miles and distance to empty (fuel).  I'll replace one of those with oil temp if/when it gets supported by the UG.  D*mn thing is so cheap, you can't NOT get one! Plus, much easier to see than the Aeroforce Interceptor gauges and even the DIC display.

I don't disagree but they were able to display the outside temp on the DIC on the Sky. It's not asking too much to have the Solstice displayed the same way.

It's not really important to me one way or the other anyways 'cause in my car it's either warm enough to have the top down or it's not.   :D

Interesting... I hadn't noticed before that the Sky 'humps' have a much more defined creased-peak than the Sol's

Interestingly, the panel under the plastic Tulip panel is not so pronounced. I suspect the Sky and Solstice share that black panel.

They didn't ask, they just mentioned that the were going to do it.  The way that most people take car of cars over here, I doubt than anyone would pay for detailing.  They really don't even know what the word means!
