So being behind critter is like porridge?
Interesting.

Critter was nice enough to let me drive his kappa at the MM.
When you are driving it, you hear the exhaust, but it does not overwhelm you.  Really nice and mellow at cruise speed.
But when you stomp the gas.  It's freaking awesome!!!

I gotta re-figure out the tire thing now.
I can't hook up in first gear anymore.

I tried doing some 1/4 mile times and I was spinning like crazy even with the Star Specs.
I guess the next set of tires will have to be wider and stickier
Awe, there's that slippery mod slope again.   :D

Be sure to let us know what ya' come up with Dave.

Critterman, did the sound deadening in the trunk make a big difference in the sound that is transmitted to the cabin?

You have to come off the line at a lower RPM, depending on surface conditions I come off betwee 2 -2.5k.  Cannot do it any higher.  I still start spinning 3.5k ever so slightly all the way to red line.

I've been playing around with that.  This turbo just comes on so strong. I'd love to get someone with better Drag skills than me do a 1/4 run in it.
Best I did previously was 14.10.
My Play spot actually had traffic the other day, so I couldn't do what I wanted.  Normally it's a ghost town.

Finished the installation of the 304 Stainless Grills (MM Prize - thanks U4EA!!!) and the kill switch install for the grill lights in the people compartment.  Overall a good learning experience taking the front bumper off and playing around with everything inside of it. (Pics coming soon)

I installed a backup camera. (Yesterday and today!) Wired xmitter power into the backup lights.  What an unbeliveable PITA!  If the bulb ever goes I'll give serious consideration to taking it to the dealer for a new one....  But the camera works neat.

Trick to changing the bulb is just to pull the rear light cluster (2 screws) and reach down the hole underneath. Easy-peasy, abt 30 secs. (Sorry! )

Actually you can get the wire to the backup lights from behind the kick panel in the passenger compartment on the passenger side. It's the shiny green one if I remember correctly. No need to go to the back of the car.

walked out to my Sky today to find a family posing and taking pictures in front of it!!!!  LMAO!!!  I never had anyone do that even with my XK8!

Finally black-wrapped my windshield trim and finished my flat black racing stripe down the rear. removed front license plate holder, searched for a lightweight racing radiator.... no luck.  I've seen some AWESOME ones that are up to 15lbs lighter and work twice as efficient for stangs, EVO's etc.  nothing for a Kappa? I'm surprised since so many people auto-X with them.

I can't take the Kappa out without having its picture taken once per ignition start (on average) and without compliment.  I make it a point to park it within eyesight at an establishment so my wife and I can watch people reactions and, half the times, hear their comments.  I guess the combination of its curves, color, and wheels makes it visually loud.

Like SHiNY said, get used to it :)

DDMWorks, Dejon, and Hahn also offer intercoolers that are effective.  I have the DDM intercooler and after logging my new turbo this weekend, you could see how effective it was at keeping temperatures down!

I read it the same way Steve, had to go back and reread the post!!! LOL!!! Old age is catching up to you.

To keep this what I did, taking Lindsey to the beach for a photo op this evening, trying to catch the sunset with the grills/ grill lights, etc.

I dont think the werks one is much lighter, but it is a better design that can handle track days better than our stock one.
As far as AutoX, I am not sure of the legality of swapping in a smaller one for various classes.
I am sure the SCCA has something to make that a PITA and not worth doing

To make it even worse for you, he has a 2.4 so he has no use for an intercooler.
