For the above situation, I pretty much agree, but there are situations where visual inspection can tell you alot
For example
My Front Axle oil in my Jeep was a Murky white Tan.
Rear Axle was a dark brown almost black.

Conclusion, Water contamination in the front axle, bad inner axle seals.

Solution, replace in axle seals

Fair enough.  Yes, if you get some massive amount of oil contamination, i.e. coolant leak, or some other major water intrusion . . . for the most part, you can't really tell anything about oil until you get an oil analysis

I only stated that the color difference between the oils just as an observation. I didn't expect any of the oils to still have their purple color; it was a little suprising. I didn't mean to insinuate that the engine oil was worn down any further than what would be considered normal. My goal for the engine was just to change the oil, not compare products. I agree, a oil analysis test would be best for that.

My comparison will be for the redline oil I put in the tranny and diff vs the royal purple that came out; that was unclear in my earlier post. Sorry for the confusion.

Installed my oil catch can from DDM last night. Had to move the rubber feet as they weren't in contact with anything in their stock locations.
Just trying to do my part...

Went down to FrictionFighter's today to pick up the Boomerang I bought from him (out of his drifter Sol).  He has the absolute CUTEST little dog!  We have 4 dogs at home - two Siberians a Border Collie and a Sheltie - and I don't normally like small dogs (I don't much like the Sheltie as a matter of fact).  But FF's tiny dog was an absolute darling.

washed BoB, clay barred the fascia and hood, in prep for clear bra, more to do, found pin prick sized paint specks, clay bar hardly touched em  :banghead: any ideas??
got the wind restrictor in, not wired yet, need a switch anyways before I do it. borrowed Kenny's JPM console, undecided on color scheme, but leaning towards black with silver, and less red. cup holder is totally awry, maybe tomorrow open up the dash and see if I can get it back where it belongs...or rip it out altogether.  :gaah:

The off-the-shelf ones aren't that great.  I much prefer the one's that PBW makes.  You can order from their website and have it delivered in 3-4 days.  I got the 3-pack deal from them and and combined them together into one big ball.  It does wonders with Spray and Wipe.

I thought about getting the Sol out today, but the radio called for rain.  And of course it's perfectly sunny.   :slap:

I might take it out after work later.  It needs a bath...bad.
