rear valence-delete,(fully exposing the exhaust like on the aftermarket kits for the Lotus Exige)

pics and stories to come...  :)

Someone crazy like I am. Was thinking about doing this the other day. (when I get a nice exhaust of course. Not a rusty stock one.) Definitely waiting to see pictures with the rear valence off.

Where did you get it from?
finally wrapped my tulip, but I used 3M Di-Noc Carbon fiber.... SOOOOOOOOO easy to install.  in fact, it's the EASIEST vinyl wrap I've EVER played with!  highly recommended

Where did you get it from? Did you buy it by the roll?  How much was it?  I've been looking for this locally in Toronto.  I'm wary of purchasing it online as I want to be sure to get the 3M Di-Noc, and not just any CF look vinyl.  I've worked with this stuff before, and it's great!  Easy to apply, and lasts very long compared to the typical vinyl for this application.

I know you did.  I was being a smart  :donkey:

Except it's true.  I didn't do either of those things today.  And it's a perfectly nice day out.

Spent the whole day cleaning all of the crap off of the car I picked up on the way back from the nationals.  Tar, acid rain, dirt, dirt, dirt, and rock chips from freshly graveled roads.
Thanks, Dave Russell

Wow, after doing a 3 hour trip today with the SOLO hi-flow cat, SOLO headers and SOLO NA Single I am just shocked. This has to be the cleanest, smoothest 4-banger exhaust I've ever owned! (of course it's the ONLY I4 I've ever owned LOL)

absolutely no 'rice-rasp,' and absolutely no drone.  Unbelievable for such a high-flowing setup!  made 157hp 185ft lbs torque to the wheels courtesy of HP tuners too! More power to be nabbed, but it was getting late. The tables need a little more fuel and I should be able to break into the 160's for hp and hopefully close to 190 for Torque!  I can FINALLY pull harder on the interstate and lane-change much easier.

trying to DYNO tune with an auto tranny is NOT fun, ran the sh*t out of her!  Ran her in 4th, but pretty much ran the longest single runs I've ever had to on a Dyno :(  otherwise that sensitive motherf%&*ing TCM downshifts on you!!! ARGH!

I promise to take pix of my rear-valence-delete, I think it looks very 'raw' and very cool.  My best friend custom fabbed and mounted an additional white LED bar for the reverse-light that was removed, and then he fabbed aluminum bars to brace the outer 'mouth' of the rear bumper that surrounds the muffler. (if you don't your rear-bumper will flap in the wind!)
The custom diffuser/skid plate is still being fabbed for underneath the muffler for a 'finished' look, but I love it how it is right now.  shaved a couple more pounds off the rear too!
Which brings me to my ONLY gripe about the SOLO catback: it's sure does not feel 30lbs lighter as Steve suggested... :(  in all likelihood, it felt heavier due to the added resonator, BUT that resonator is also the reason the whole setup sounds so BAD%SS!!!!!!   (the high flow cat is definitely a lighter unit though :)

SOLO definitely did not let me down in terms of fit, finish and sound-quality.  Seriously, the whole setup was so insanely easy to install without a single problem!  that is REALLY hard to find these days!   They can consider me a customer for life.
So glad I didn't go with Magnaflow...

SOLO  :urock:

oh, Steve and Jeff, please feel free to chime in if I'm wrong about the weight, I USUALLY put EVERYTHING on the scale and weigh it as I've been working on this car, so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about the weight disparity of the exhausts!  I know FOR CERTAIN the SOLO 'Race-exhuast' is lighter because there is no muffler! and perhaps that's what you  meant.   :idk:

Once again a moderators request goes unheeded..posts have been moved offline.

Please do not continue private discussions on the open forum..an agreement was reached it appears and should be upheld, if nothing else for the sake of other members.

Nearly every thread here gets hijacked at some point and I do understand the intent of this thread is to discuss improvements/modifications that have been done to a Kappa...that being said, may we return it to it's original intent?

If there really is a need for a thread on driving and washing our cars I'm sure we can make that happen.
Just here to help a friend!

Thats what I like to hear. Cant wait to see them. I was going to do an led bar as well just to have something there come inspection time. If its not as bright as the stock Im not going to be worried about it. Not like the stock one does anything anyway. lol

The LED bar gives off pretty good light, it's meant for a sport bike, but it does the trick.  I wanted it to be small so it wouldn't look so obvious like the GIANT 'GMC Arcadia' reverse light that is normally there.  In fact, the LED bar looks almost identical to the one built into the rear just below the spoiler.
The valence-delete is extremely easy and took about 10minutes.  wired directly into the OE wiring harness for the LED bar, my buddy Jesse custom-fabbed an aluminum tab for it, then 3m taped the bar to the tab.  Simple.

I won't get to des moines until 10 or 11 fri night and I'll still have another 1.5 hrs to go. I'll probably pass thru around 6 monday.

And thanks on the cookies because I need to grab some for my dad too! But yes, I can bring cookies! I'll be coming from the Ft. Dodge area, so somewhere on the north side would work best.
