I don't like to buzz people, I thought this way will be a more subtle way to do it.

SLIGHT side track. The "pill" will make the throttle touchy as the boost hits much lower in the rev range and is for a short time nearly uncontrolled. I hit 29psi all over the place in 2nd, but in higher gears the boost settles back to less crazy levels (but still higher than I have had before) as one is in those gears longer and so the pressures stabilize in the sensor line. So far NO knock retard above 2400 rpm, and I have NOT asked for a new file from Lyndon yet. Last Solo event of the season and I will remove it for the winter. Spring for a new file and dyno run.

For those that do this -- READ THIS --- just because a mig tip is "rated" at a certain number does NOT mean that the whole is that size. I use a .030 tip and it measured at .039. Lyndon used a Miller brand .030 tip and his measured at .034. The tip is simply a wire guide for a mig welder, not a calibrated piece at all. I say this as different sized tips will change the way this mod works.

Thanks Bob, I got Miller brand I am pretty sure, I got 4 different sizes the largest is a 40 something, Lyndon told me start with it.

No Critter I will not be there, getting oil changed and the estimate done for crunch repair, then oil changed in truck.

Another added point. The car may run REALLY crappy to begin with. Mine was "did I BREAK something?" ragged. Miles don't seem to help as much as actual on/off/on drive cycles.

Just got the insurance company estimate on my car, they were not even close to what I figure, the guy guessed the grill's were $15 each, try $62 right and $72 left. I will be getting a new bumper, maybe a new hood yet to be seen (body shops call) they are replacing the clear bra. I decided to go with a nice black stripe instead of a non factory bumper, the clear bar guy can do it so why not. Now my car will really look like a bumble bee.

Am I the only one who didn't know they have a clear bra for around the windshield on our cars now, may have the body shop reshoot around my windshield and then have the bra put on, it takes a lot of hits.

As a demo, my Redline took the same hit. WARNING -- these cars a MONSTER to get the hood and bumper aligned. When they say it is done, don't even look at body gaps until you pop the hood and look for ANY distortion at the screws that hold the bumper skin to its brackets and mounting points. ANY distortion means they missed, and the hood will be wrong PERIOD! A local body shop I have used in the past has done a bunch of Kappas, and it still takes at LEAST a full day to get a skin and hood 100% correct. Just keep bring your guys a lot of fresh doughnuts !!!!!!

I know the guys that are doing it pretty well, they managed to reinstall the rear bumper on the RMR built GTO perfectly, it is a made to order carbon fiber and fiberglass piece, had zero mounting holes when we picked it up from Rhys.

I am getting a new hood and bumper, ordered the recessed grills, thank you insurance company, the will paint and install them as well as the new clear bra and racing stripe, reshooting the windshield frame and it is getting a clear bar too.

Changed the oil and filter, rotated the tires, replaced brake/clutch reservoir with GM Racing unit flushed entire system with blue goo Dot 4 fluid. Next the turbo pill, I now know where it is, weather permitting I will change it tomorrow.

As for what I did to my car today, I finally whipped out my Longacre digital camber/caster gauge and realigned the rear end. Pulled out the jack stands a yellow fly fishing line and did the "string" thing. For anybody knows how to align this car, the above mentioned tool is WAY cool. They run about $270 (got mine from SafeRacer - great folks, Google it). Four jack stands, some string, a metal ruler, Longacre toe plates, and four pairs of 12" smooth floor tiles with some grease, and YOU TOO can align your car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Four alignment tweaks and ALL the stuff is paid for, and you STILL own the tools. Racing in 15 hours. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ...........

One caution I will share; Lyndon said "this just might be a turbo killer". Probably why he does not "pump up" tjis mod.

Time well spent, assembling those tools and learning how to use them. Once you learn to do your own alignments, you'll never go back!

License plate light "dust mod".

While I was cutting plastic, I cut a couple of triangles to try to make A-pillar windblockers. But I couldn't find where to insert them in the rubber weatherstrip. Others have said they insert them into the weatherstrip somehow, but buggered if I can see how.

Noticed I had a burned out fog light bulb on the way to work, ordered a new set. I softened the damping on the rear last weekend, car much less prone to drift now, I hate winter.

Checked with a couple of local dealers to find out what they would charge for doing the GMPP tune that I purchased last week. One place so far has said about $200 just for the labor and flashing of the ECM...

I laughed at him!! Told him GM says one hour for the entire procedure...where did you come up with 2.75 hours??? He said they charge 1.75 hrs for installing the 2 sensors, plus another hour for flashing the ECM.

How many of you out there have run into the same senario??
I went back to the dealership I purchased my Sol from, (a Saturn dealer) and he said since Im an ASE Master Tech, I could install the sensors right there, then they would flash the ECM...(now thats a good deal to me

) their lead tech wants to make sure he can still access the downloads for the SOL and SKY, (they've never done the GMPP tune there for the Sols or Skys, last upgrade they had done was for the ION Redline Supercharged) so Im thinking that Im gonna watch to make sure they choose the right downloads for my Sol. Man I cant wait till I have it installed finally...I feel the need...THE NEED FOR SPEED!!!!!

Wow, an hour to flash the ECM, it normally takes 20-30 seconds.
