G8ter  -   Do you even have a furnace in Fla?   I'm talking like we do up north gas/oil/propane, or are you dependent on a heatpump?

Also, I don't think the houses are as well insolated or are they?

Bob,  Everyone knows bathrooms follow kitchen remodeling, sometimes bath rooms are done 2 or 3 times before the kitchen is redone.

I am on my 3rd bathroom(s)  Well the 2 full have been done 3 times the half has only been done twice (not that it doesn't come up at least once a month) since the kitchen was done.

Just saying....

The FULL package of the kitchen remake actually include the hallway AND powder room. The master bath WILL have its time, but not this year.

Running a heat pump here. My house was built in the late 50s so I have added some insulation since I bought it 10 years ago. We have to have that because of how hot it gets and the humidity, you can't just open the windows on a cool summer evening like you could when I was a kid living in Virginia. You need A/C probably 9 months out of the year.
My biggest problem is that I need to change out the old crank out windows that have been in the house since new. You don't realize until you get such a cold snap how much you're losing in energy going out the windows with the A/C on.

I have the jalocy windows on my back porch and there is no way to seal them without investing in plastic, tape, and a heat gun to shrink the plastic storm windows you put on the inside :)  You do not even have to be next to the window to feel the breeze.  I used to try and heat it in the winter by covering the windows and running a kerosene heater.  It is 450 sq ft, so the 45k btu heater would only bring it up about 2 degrees an hour until it was 10-15 degrees above the outside temp.  Waste of money

Washed the salt off my car!  Some of it looked like rocks!  Found out that the top leaks at the windows when going through the car wash - ah, well.  Rather bring a towel and deal with the leaks to get that salt off.

And I tried to FALL on my car today. Dispelling any thoughts to the contrary, I MUST have a brain as I have a minor concussion. So, let's see. Scoped right knee on 12-27, damaged rotator cuff on my right side, and now seven stitches over my left eye as well as some serious sewing on my left thumb. The GREAT news is that what brains I actually DO have seem to be sufficiently tasked as to now all this crap is blocking the input from all my spinal issues !!!! This leaves my left leg to :censor: up, but I have already cleared the driveways. I can now speak highly about two of our local hospitals. It is my sincere desire that this will take care of 2009 AND 2010, leaving 11.5 months of peace and tranquility. Guess I'll be doing the new springs and exhaust systems later than sooner, huh?

Aw, man!  Sorry, dude!  Hopefully this gets the bad luck out of your system for quite a while - maybe it means you'll win all your autoXs!

Not against Evo9's. :banghead: At THIS point I am just concerned that I GET to them. :gaah: Thumb is throbbing and ego is bruised. :idiot: :cryin: But I must be feeling better because I can focus on stuff and my right shoulder is hurting again. ;) This little reptilian brain can't take input from too many places, so some of them must be feeling better.

Did you hurt streak?

In the AM a friend is coming over to help me actually DO what I was trying to accomplish. At that point I'll see what sort of mess I created. I know that I didn't hit the car, but I have no clue what may have.

Let's see, where is that State Farm guy's card?

Maybe the Evo owners will have used up all their luck once the season starts. The way things are going you should still have plenty of luck left when the season starts.

Appreciate the "take care" thing. First I will need to resolve the affects of rectal cranial inversion syndrome. As for Evos, prepped to exactly same level of a  Kappa for Street Prepared, the MR version (lightweight) scales in at about 3100-3150 pounds, great for wheel drive system, nearly 400 hp and tq at the wheels, better gearing, and while they have a slight cornering deficit to a Kappa, they will brake with a Kappa, and rip the doors off us in a straight line. I think that Alex will close the gap on the top Evos at Nats, but THE car will always be the Evo8/9 in B/SP.

If the evo 9's are so superior, why are they in that class? From what I understand nothing can touch them with the current rules. Kinda takes away the whole idea of classes...

I'm starting to think that the SCCA is like all the professional sports: All about the money.

Race tires in stock classes so that Tirerack can make bank, bias towards some makes/models makes it look like certain manufacturers are getting a cut, etc.

Hardly the ametuer-friendly outfit the present themselves as.

That's why I am done with it.  It was fun, I proved I can drive but I have much more productive ways of spending 10hrs of time.

Ya THINK !?!?!?!?!?!?!  :gaah:

In all fairness, the ONLY way to deal with the Subbies and Evos is to have an AWD class, and THAT will NEVER happen. In ANY class there will always be one or two dominant car. Assuming Alex Jones gets a few more demon tweaks to his set up and gets 100% from the car, he'll be close in B S/P this year at Nats, but unless the two top Evo pilots cone away their runs, NO 2WD car will beat them.

If anything, the SCCA is TOO much of an amateur outfit. Otherwise, the rule set would be better (for instance). There just is not the level of sophistication to pro-actively mold the rules to the needs and desires of vendors or manufactures.
